@penguin34 I think you'll get better results if you can post a questionnaire. This is a vague question, and the only people who can really answer it as written are people who have lived in both the UK and the US.
I don't think my technical skills , or lack of! Will enable me to work out a questionnaire. Lol . I will just have to do some good old research. 🤦
I have been considering this question for some time, and made little progress. The US cuddle world is bigger, but once you adjust for population and disposable income I don't think it's that much bigger. (I haven't done the sum.)
It's also the case that US cuddling is somewhat concentrated in a few areas, particularly southern California and the northeast metropolis. Those areas are certainly more open to cuddling than the UK at large but that's not a fair comparison: only London, which does have a good cuddle community, is comparable.
Americans are much more superficially friendly and more open to casual touch than we are here. Americans, as a whole, also have more social confidence. I don't think there is a big difference in attitudes to cuddling per se, but I suspect those other social factors just make it easier for Americans to embrace it.
Having cuddled with Americans who are visiting London there is certainly no difference in the cuddle itself.
@CuddleDuncan - I was hoping you would weigh in on this topic. I’ve traveled the world but my last trip outside the U.S. was February 2020 just before the lockdowns started (flew to Panama with no issues at all but had to go through multiple temperature screenings at the airports for my flights home).
Anyway, I have experienced many different cultures but I have not traveled Internationally since joining this site in 2021. I thought you would be one of the few people who could really speak to this thread’s original question.
