Visitors disappearing

I have had multiple instances where I looked on my "visitors" page and saw a person who had recently visited my profile, and then the next day I look again and that person is nowhere in my list of visitors. Their account is still active and everything else seems normal.

Is there a way to remove yourself from someone's "visited" list? What would cause someone to be removed from the list of visitors?

    I'm not certain, but if I had to guess I'd say maybe they deleted their account or something along those lines.

    I have also experienced this. I've always assumed it was due to them Deactivating, being banned, deleting, being put on Timeout, being Paused, or perhaps blocking. But if you say their account is still active, that would throw most of those out.

    Could be that they blocked you, deactivated, or muted their account

    If the person had blocked me, deactivated, or muted, then the messaging-them page would say "You cannot send a message to (name). You have been blocked" or "Member is deactivated/muted." But it doesn't; I can still message the person.

    Can you view their profile, as well? With Muting, users can continue messaging with people who they already had a conversation with, but new people cannot message them, and their profile isn't in search results. I am not sure if the profile would say it was Muted, or not...

    I have yet to experience visitors disappearing. I'm curious about the conditions in which to achieve this.

    My first thought is "Is there a time period where visitors stay in view before disappearing?" But, you said recently and then the next day (which I assume is less than 24 hours later?).

    I have noticed a weird thing on the visitors page where I noticed that it doesn't seem to track in real time who I visited. If it is someone new, it tracks fine. But it doesn't always seem track each time I visited, especially if it is in a short amount of time. At least as far as i know on my end. I'm not sure if that is at all related to the disappearing instance (code-wise) but I thought I would mention just in case. I know sometimes finding other (potential) bugs helps me find the original bug.

    It will show the last 20 users to have viewed your profile. They fall off the bottom as other people visit.

    The time it takes will vary by how frequently your profile is viewed. Some people fill up 20 slots in a few weeks, others in a few hours.

    So theoretically, if you happen to visit a very popular person's profile, it is possible that they never know it via the visitors tab? I'm guessing that is not what is happening with the op though....
