Cancelling Sessions

Has anyone experienced a pro cancelling a day before a cuddle session? This happened to me recently.

  • Yes. It will happen on occasion, so don't let it bother you too much.

Why would you be unique. It happens.

  • Don’t worry guess it’s normal for them to cancel even on the day of the appointment even after you tell them to confirm, because you are going to book the hotel. I guess no ethics in some. Just a shame that such cuddlers do exist here. But I guess we can’t be too worried about it as it seems it’s all normal.

I hope you’re not taking it personally,
I would be surprised if you’ve never had to cancel an appointment of any kind for whatever reason. And then probably didn’t feel obligated to give the reason why either, Especially if it’s to a professional. As in canceling a massage, hair cut or Dr. appointment.

Life happens. If she gave you a one day notice, that’s better than some.
Because there are no-shows here with no explanation, no warning. Those are the tough ones to accept.

I’ve been cancelled on in advance, as well as day of. The reasons stated were always valid and I’ve decided to trust those reasons. I’ve just shrugged when there wasn’t one given. 😀

I’ve also had to cancel. I had a good reason but it was highly inconvenient for both of us. Hopefully we’ll reconnect another time recognizing that it happens, and doesn’t have a be a “fault” scenario.

But regardless, it’s not worth over analyzing.

  • @Katota you’re a bright spot in every discussion topic. Have a great night. 👍

    @lovingspoonfull Lol! 😄
Aww, why thank you...Same to you, here have some popcorn from the Big Man Popper, Himself!😁

Goodnight to you as well! 👋😁

  • Canceling is always a tough one and sometimes happen.

My work changes often and sometimes I have to change / cancel an appointment. I strive to give as much notice as possible.

If I know them well or would like to meet them in future, I will send a small gift card like Starbucks as apologies and hope for future.

  • Cancelling at least lets you know it’s not happening, the worst is when they ghost after setting up a session and not hearing from them until the end of the day or a few days later apologizing. I rather know, it’s not the worst thing to happen.

Yes, things will often come up unexpected. Just be thankful they didn't cancel last minute like 1-3 hours before. That happens often but we're expected to pay a cancelation fee if we do the same. It's crazy to me lol

  • @GenZcuddles - Because they lose out on other clients they could be seeing when they book a session with you. You as a client didn't lose anything unless you booked a hotel room specifically for the cuddle then I believe they should reimburse you for that.

  • I did once, but it was for a legitimate reason. Her daughter got into a car accident, could have been badly injured, and she had to help her.

I do my best to cancel as far in advance as possible. In the event that it's less than 12 hours ahead of time, the site asks that pros offer a discount on future sessions. For me, I offer 50% off in those rare cases. Inversely, I am cancelled on frequently, sometimes just hours before a session. In those cases, one might expect to be compensated for their time. But, unless someone makes it a regular occurrence, I chalk it up to life being lifey and move on. To me, retaining someone as a future client trumps the inconvenience. I consider a day's notice to be relatively considerate, but can only speak for myself.

  • I've had one cancell on me, actually the first one i booked. She gave a reason and was apologetic. She offered a discount on another in the future but it's been so long that i wouldn't expect her to remember. Maybe I'll scroll back through my messages to see if it's in there and maybe ask her to honor that. I took as a sign really, i was already a little nervous about it so since she flaked i took it as a sign.

  • I’ve only had 1 pro cancel and if memory serves me right, it was either the day before or possibly the same day. We rescheduled, she offered three hours for the price of two. That three hours became closer to 4. So 4 hours for the price of two, she more than made up for cancelling.

I had to cancel on a client just this last week. I had developed a lower respiratory infection and didn’t want to chance getting him sick. I woke up the day before our session sick. He had reserved a room but I gave him 25 hour notice giving him an hour to cancel the room and not get fined for canceling. The pro should of reached out with a reason

  • If a client cancels within 24 hrs, there is a 50% cancellation fee stated in the policy. So if a cuddler cancels within 24 hours, there is a cancellation fee of 50% off of the rescheduled session right? It's only right it goes both ways.

  • @petewonder This is a difficult business in which to enforce rules. It requires voluntary compliance.

@petewonder To @TxTom 's point, Not once have I had a client provide the cancellation fee.

  • @petewonder - The cancellation fee is to compensate for the pro's time as she will likely not be able to get another client in short notice. Unless you paid money for a hotel room, what did you lose?

  • Be grateful that she actually cancelled in advance vs ghosting you the day of the meet. It happens, nothing you can do about it.

  • I’ve had plenty of potential first-time clients cancel on me with no warning and a few who just flat out ghosted. But I chalk it up to “that’s life.” I’ve had to postpone a couple clients a couple days out due to a family emergency that required me to go out of town. Tried to reschedule with them, but their lives got busy.

Only canceled last-minute on one client the day of, because he kept trying to push on asking if I’d break the rules, even after I’d given multiple warnings about it, and then I found out he had lied about his location and gave me all of a 2-hr notice before the session for that (so instead of what should have been a 30-minute drive one way would have been 1.5 hours one-way…) So, I told him I didn’t feel comfortable with going through with the session, since he wouldn’t accept the rules and was dishonest before we even met.

I don’t do the whole fee charge for a cancelled session, though there are times I wish I did.

  • When I traveled to California recently, I had two cuddle sessions that were set up weeks prior. Both cancelled around the 24 hour mark (one sick, one with parenting responsibilities)
They were both kind enough to offer to send me a little bit of $ on Venmo as a thanks for being understanding and as a good sincere gesture. There are people who are thoughtful and learned their manners! 😇

  • Did they tell you why?
I recently totaled my car so I had to cancel like five upcoming sessions

  • @atomicbearhug glad to see you posting here then as evidence you walked away from it. Hope you’re well. That’s a pretty stressful experience at best.

  • I don’t charge a cancellation fee-
But I do emphasize to cuddlers -especially ones I’ve not met, who have not been on here for long or have no karmas - that If they need to cancel- it’s not a big deal to me, but I would appreciate a heads up-
And I send a morning of confirmation- and wait till I hear back before i give out my address.
So far if get cancellations - it’s typically at least 24 hours in advance.

  • IF I ever was to cancel within 48 hours I would pay the agreed upon rate to the Pro without question. No matter the reason I had to cancel.

However, IF I pro ever cancelled with me within 12 hours of the agreed upon date/time then I would expect a free Hour from her next time I booked (assuming there was a next time).

  • @KnightlyCuddles
I think that is completely fair and I would do exactly that, in fact the only time I ever had to cancel as a pro (I had Covid) i did give the next session free of charge.
But in all the last minute cancellations by clients, only one offered to pay, he actually paid the whole session fee, which I said wasn’t necessary but he insisted. So kind!
Normally I don’t bother to ask because if they cancel last minute, they’re likely not being very responsible and probably won’t pay for my time.
