I started playing the remake of Silent Hill 2. What games do you think are the scariest?
I don't really find games to be scary exactly, but the one I recall being the most tense is Alien: Isolation
Better question: How do adults have time to play video games?? 🤔
@great_pillow08 - Easy. I don't have any kids.
Don't know about the scariest, but the Fatal Frame series is pretty neat. Your "camera obscura" is your weapon to fight ghosts, film is your ammo.
@great_pillow08 - you don't consume any type of entertainment? TV, YT, music, books? It's the same with games. They are entertainment, but interactive, and often social as well.
@fridaygreg - Video games are still seen as a waste of time to some people for some reason. Some guys will get with their buddies to play Fantasy Football and make an entire weekend out of it. That's the adult equilivant of playing with action figures, but since it's football, it's more socially acceptable.
Doki Doki Literature Club. Just trust me bro
The Stanley Parable and Superlimimal have Backroom vibes. Horror? Ehh but creepy Soma, signalis, and Omori have nice lore Pathologic 2 and Dark Wood is said to be great folklore horror games Honorable mentions: Subnautica. The Return of the Obra Dinn. Monopoly (teehee), Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream
Yeah, actually STALKER used to be one of the games that I found tense too. A chimera in the dark gets the blood pumping. I think due to the amount I've played I don't get that going often anymore even playing ironman style.
STALKER:Anomaly is free and awesome for those interested in that style of game. I still play it and have yet to finish it. It's really difficult.
Subnautica
I dare you to play through it in VR and ever go in the Ocean again.
Just nope nope nope.
Iron Lung
I can't handle horror games lol, killing floor an dead space are as far as I go, I'm trying to relax not have a heart attack lol
@lonelytauros Are you looking forward to the movie?
@GuyverGordon I don’t know the game made me jump a couple times, so I don’t know if I can handle the movie lol 😂
@lonelytauros 😆
I love the creepy atmosphere of Limbo, and the deaths can be quite stylistically gruesome.
I could only play Alien:Isolation in short bursts before I had to call it quits for being too scary
I remember Amnesia being scary. Actually, games where the focus is running and hiding tends to be the scariest for me, since you cannot always fight back.
FEAR and alien isolation scared me, I can’t play by myself/have to watch someone else
@Kuneho I like Limbo as well but it can't hold my attention.
I don't often play horror themed games if I'm playing alone. It gets to me because my imagination runs a little too wild. lol
Parasite eve for PS1 stuck with me to this day. Check out the opera scene. Eternal darkness for GameCube was a different kind of scary. At one point the game intentionally hit you with the windows blue screen of death.
There's a great Skyrim horror mod called clockwork. It's that atmospheric quiet uneasy horror. Rather than jump scare. It's very scary at first, then it becomes an interesting story
Dead by Daylight is one of my favorite games! 👻
I also love Silent Hill, Five Nights at Freddy's, Outlast, The Quarry, Don't Starve (more creepy than scary)
@JessicaGirl Yes to Five Nights at Freddy's (especially the VR games) and I love Don't Starve
