Lori’s obsession is with Edmund Cox, who was convicted of butchering more than twenty women. She will do anything to get close to him, so when he gives her a task, she accepts.
She has no idea of the horror that awaits her.
Edmund says she must go to his cabin in the woods and retrieve a key to deliver to a mysterious figure known only as The River Man.
She brings along her sister, and the trip becomes a surreal nightmare, one that digs up Lori’s personal demons, the ones she feels bonds her to Edmund. Soon she will learn The River Man is not quite fact or folklore, and definitely not human . . . at least not anymore.
It took me a while but I finally found and ordered Fury on DVD (yes I still watch DVDs, wanna make something of it?😜🥊) and watched it this week. Lol! I remembered being ENTHUSIASTICALLY INFORMED about this movie by a classmate in back high school, he was SO pumped up with such excitement and energy (we were teenagers back then so😀) in his "storytelling" of this particular film...Lol! He even ended it on this note:
"It's crazy Katota, you gotta watch it. We're both weirdo horror lovers, you'll love it!"

I also caught to this one too^, though I never read the book it was based on. I read up on it last month while awaiting its postage arrival.☺️ It seems Wes Craven wasn't too happy about the finished product, especially inclusion of the infamous "basketball to the head kill" scene. 😆
Apparently he was trying to "take a break" from the gory horror type of films that he is better known and remembered for. Which I totally understand and respect.😁👍
OH well, I still enjoyed watching it then and now. 😁🍿

I never understood 2 things from the movie, why were the mean kids insulting Carrie by calling her "a pig" and WHY risk your neck climbing fences to kill a pig in order to drain it's blood? Why not kill a stray cat or a stray dog, they're easier to obtain?🤷
Until I read Carrie, and found my answers to those 2 questions:
Carrie White is a fat girl, I get it now.☺️👍
Of course, ALL of the movie portrayals of Carrie White (and her mother Margaret White, who is also fat in the book) were cast by actresses that are slim and petite...So, no film version of Carrie will ever be "accurate" as they all claim to be.😉😆
Plus, in the book Carrie didn't just burn down the school either...😁☺️
So yeah, I agree with you about nice little secrets that books can reveal better than the movies. 😁👍
@Katota I was going to ask why they risked their lives for the pigs and as I was typing it out it clicked in my head. Oh man, Stephen King really knows how to tell a story 🫣

We watched The Haunting (1999), this weekend.
The Gothic house gives the movie a very unique feel for it's time period. The double spiral staircase was glorious! Catherine Zeta-Jones is stunningly confident in her early scenes. Very interesting to see Owen Wilson in this kind of setting. I feel like this was an 80's movie concept that had to wait around for 90's CGI to become feasible. 🤭
