Dear Diary

edited October 2024 in General

I was fussed at this morning by both my dog and my cat. I was then taking a healthy poops and realized I wasn't finished after wiping so it took longer than my usual time frame allowed for poop activity. Then I had a spam call and another spam call. Then when getting dressed I realized my socks I had put on has a small hole in the big toe. I wanted pumpkin pie but the store only has apple.

What is a person to do? So here I am on a interwebs cuddle site whining to strangers who im sure have better things to do than listen to my whining , but it does seem to be the norm so I shall use this opportunity to vent all of my frustrations and use this site as my own personal blog. Perhaps when I'm done whining I can work on my coping skills, act like an adult, and maybe someone shall wish to cuddle with me .

  • I think if people had better things to do, they could simply skip by the kinds of threads and posts that contain such whiny things.

Unless they are just unable to control their behaviors. But that's a reader problem, not a poster problem.

I think I read as many threads and posts about feces, cheese, and 'whining about whining' as I read threads and posts that contain "whining."

But I support everyone's freedom to whine about feces or about how eating too much cheese can make pooping difficult. And if they are reading "whining" posts on the pot while they're straining to squeeze out some backed up cheesy poops, I can see how frustrating that would be. I can also see how posting about that here could engender a sympathetic post or two that might brighten one's backed up and bloated day. Even if just for a minute.

Post on everyone! These forums are for us all, as long as we abide by TOS. 😀

Pumpkin pie sounds great right now... it can also help to get things moving down there.

I can't help but notice your obsession/focus on poops. Could it be time to see a doctor? 😉😄

  • Save the holey sock in the bathroom as a backup in case you ever run out of toilet paper

Perhaps you had too many sour grapes that caused you to whine. :)

  • :3 Never gonna give you up
    Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
    Never gonna make you cry
    Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you =)

    Have a better 💩 tomorrow @pmvines

Can I also borrow the dog and cat that fuss at you ? I love 💗 fur babies taking charge in the morning!

  • Not every random thought needs to be posted here.

  • @SeekerInVA
Exactly the point of my thread

  • @billiam posted: "I think I read as many threads and posts about feces, cheese, and 'whining about whining' as I read threads and posts that contain "whining.""

    Very astute.

No privacy whatsoever & no coffee or burrito 🌯 delivery 🚚. They just invade my space. Rude.
These cats are fired from there free jobs!! Sheesh 🙄
    @pmvines

  • @Jubal 🤣

@pmvines Ill take all the fussy fur babies. Anytime. Just look at their clear face pics taken with opposable thumbs. 👍 sweet floofs

  • It is my opinion that publicly imitating a behavior that you dislike is ineffective in bringing about the change that is desired.

  • I just like irony that's all

  • @JoyfulHeart That is exactly what some of the greatest satirists of history have done—Swift, Pope, etc.—so it can affect change if done correctly. Whether @pmvines did it correctly is up for interpretation.

I think when it is ineffective is when someone who reads literally takes umbrage with the satire. In which case I consider the lack of brain cells a contributing factor.

I will never be as good with satire as our old friend @darklordchungus, he was on a different level and often went to some pretty dark places, but I can try and I can dream

@JoyfulHeart @billiam i agree with your sentiments. Reminds me of when a toddler is crying and then the adult mimics the behavior either thinking it’s funny or hoping it will stop. Some people need an outlet to vent and if they’re not breaking the tos then who cares if it’s a thread about your favorite color or anything else.

  • I agree that satire can be effective, and yet we can also manage to kill mosquitos with sledgehammers. There are tools, namely flagging, which are designed to bring moderator attention to an issue.

The moderators recommend using built-in tools. They will not always bring about the result that a flagger wishes, but the desired result will not be made more likely with the addition of the sledge hammer.

There are things on this forum that I'm not fond of. I flag them and let another moderator decide what to do. If another moderator dismisses my flag, I have a choice to continue using a site that I love, or to pack it in because of the things that bother me.

I don't have special skills in this regard that are inaccessible to others, but I know that I cannot control the beliefs or behaviors of others.

  • I think what we need is more off the cuff stream of consciousness complaints about the least impactful parts of our lives . And everybody should whine more .

  • Well no one is using a sledgehammer and I don’t think @pmvines was whining. But I do think everyone could agree that consistency in governing the forums is key and I think it has been whimsical at times. I am not attacking any specific moderator past or present, but there used to be more detectable hard lines in the sand that you could count on being corrected if crossed.

Now days, who knows. I have seen mild stuff obliterated from the map, hard stuff ignored, and threads locked to everyone because of 1 or 2 bad actors rather than booting said actors for a week or two. And the threads that get locked are the interesting ones while the superfluous threads are allowed to stay and anyone who raises a concern is publicly shamed.

I just want to know where that line is again.

    Calling Sideon

  • Calling Sideon

I didn’t want to say it, but you nailed it @gem7.

  • I miss Sideon too.

  • I will never be as good with satire as our old friend @darklordchungus

You are good at it too because it’s obvious it’s satire, but you are right about chungus—he was brilliant. But that was his problem—it flew over a lot of people’s heads. Which is fine, but some people whose heads were spinning took to making it their purpose to see him punished.

    RIP @darklordchungus

  • @pmvines Dude, it's Monday, that's all.

  • I'm always sad when I get a case of the Mondays. One Monday is bad enough, but 24 of them?
