Your Audiobook

[Deleted User]gem7 (deleted user)

The next time things are going well - when you receive great feedback on a project or idea you've been working hard on;
when everything flows smoothly from your commute to your morning routine, things just click into place; when you have a meaningful interaction with a colleague, friend, or loved one, leaving you feeling connected and supported; when the sun is shining...take your phone and go for a walk.

Hit record on an audio app and make a twenty minute auduobook. Share what you know, what you are excited about, and what you see ahead. Reflect on the changes you want to make and the steps you plan to take to get there.

Then save that recording.

One day, when you need a reminder of the person you are at your best, when challenges arise, or when motivations feels hard to find, listen to it. You'll hear your own voice offering encouragement, guidance, and optimism---exactly what you need to keep moving forward.

It might become the best audiobook you own.

    Great idea!!

  • Very sweet! I used to do what I called voice journaling. When I was driving, I would voice translate into my phone, so I would have a text entry, later. It's especially great when you are on a road trip by yourself.

    I like the purposefully positive spin on this idea, however. Thanks for sharing something uplifting on the board!

    @SunsetSnuggles A few argumentative threads lately. I thought maybe something different.

    Alas my young padawan, they always seem to come in batches. Full moon, something in the water, that time in everyone's month... 😆

    Personally, I've had a hellish 48 hours, but you know, I just got a pony in the mail, and I have a spoonful of frosting in my hand. 🧁 My boyfriend is about to spend his lunch with me. There's a bit of blue sky pushing the wildfire smoke back. And maybe my mom won't die this month. So perhaps I'll start recording. Or maybe I'll just eat frosting and cry into my boyfriend's shoulder...it remains to be seen.

    @SunsetSnuggles Sending a hug and a bunch of Happy Rays your way.

  • Definitely gives me ideas on the story front. Sometimes even fiction (stories) can come to you in your vehicle or on a walk. And your voice audit can help you mend your own delivery.

    Thanks for this
