  • Painting while listening to music.
    Walking outside alone.
Having a home of my own, living by myself and choosing how to spend my time.

  • Seeing those around me happy and living in harmony.

    No, I am not high.

A spring or fall, all day, bike ride on a gravel trail through 50+ miles of woodlands, pastures, streams, lakes, and wildflowers. Solo is great but bonus peace points if my cuddle buddy is with me.

Peace to me means feeling calm and contented and not really affected by external matters.

  • To me, Peace = acceptance of what is.

  • Being at peace is being free from worry.

  • I'd say absence of all fear. Fear if lack, fear pain, fear of conflict, fear if worry, fear if unknown actually too many to list. But without fear i believe would be total peace

  • Not sure what it means to me, but if you try to take it away I'll destroy you

  • @pmvines
You mean you don’t want anyone “damaging your calm”? A 5 second clip from my favorite Baldwin brother.

My daughter sleeping with her head on my shoulder.

  • Lol @JohnR1972 that is about how it is

  • I heard someone say slow mornings is a luxury and yeah, that about sums it up for me

  • Peace is 5:00pm on Friday.

Peace, to me, is fluid. What brings me peace today, may not tomorrow. Being alone brings me peace now, but maybe not next week or in 5 years.
@Sooson unless you're driving in Chicago traffic then.

  • You’ll have to ask my atoms when they go off to do other things.

  • @TheFunCartel I'm glad! I have found that over the years, when I'm not at peace, I'm resisting something that I have no ability to change.

right? yea always trying to avoid the rush.

  • Peace is knowing the outcome and accepting it. I think back to 3 years ago when my mom passed and she was the only one of us who did.

It means being able to live the life I have worked for, having freedom to speak, worship and assemble as I choose, and not being persecuted for my political beliefs

or for how I was born (race, gender identity, sexuality, etc), or for whatever disabilities I have. And so on.

Earlier I said that peace is being free from worry. This especially includes being free from fear.

  • @IronLemon
I understand what you mean. Fear and worry is all I feel lately. It’s paralyzing and certainly not peaceful.

  • Feeling no pain and suffering no tension of any kind and having a really really calm clear mind and deep joy and warmth inside.

  • @g_w_t_w
I sincerely Hope you can find peace and comfort.

Not trying to minimize feelings of fear -but if you can try to focus on things that make you feel good-those fear thoughts can lose much of their power.

You tube has many resources to help with this.

Also, I hope you are able to cuddle with someone who has great energy to pick you up.

Thanks to anyone who doesn’t become abusive at a difficult time.

  • @g_w_t_w

Pursue your art and that will undoubtedly open doors for you in one way or another
    .
Maybe coming back to the US is the right move for you at this time-an energy shift- always helps.
I'm in Texas if you do come back to the US -let me know if there is anything I can do.

Things always get better-ALWAYS- even if they get worse for a while- You have obviously lived long enough to know that is true- Ride it out with whatever coping mechanisms you need and come out strong on the other side.

    Thanks @BrianOcean
I actually do have a commission due next spring. I have to find studio space to paint it. Working on that from here is a challenge but will hopefully get help finding a location. Thanks for your kindness! 🤗😊

  • @g_w_t_w
I'm in Texas, too. Although, where I am, we may not be as cool as all those folks up in the DFW metroplex, because the hipsters like keeping it weird around here. But we're definitely worth a visit.

Just make sure you're up-to-date on all of your inoculations first.

  • Thanks Tom. I had planned to go to Austin. I appreciate this more than you realize. I’ve never been conventional and really dislike Dallas. But I feel stuck there and Austin is even more expensive. I’m feeling lost.

  • @Mare_Bear I really feel that with the slow mornings. I work swing shift and get up at a moderate time in the morning and then take my time. It's the best ☕
