Funny meeting you here

Any advice?

I'm not sharing with anyone, including my spouse, that I'm looking into cuddling.
I can't really say much more about that, but that I'm working on things, including our relationship.

I just made contact with someone here. I'm pretty certain we're acquainted. I tried to be a little cryptic in saying I felt we were located too close for my comfort. I got so embarrassed, I kinda freaked out a bit. I feel obligated to say something, but I'm pretty sure I won't. It would just be more embarrassing.

Has this happened to you? Any thoughts from anyone on the topic?
Thanks

  • @galowglass Yes. Not here but on more of a personal ad type site a few years ago. The note I got was from a married member of the church I attend. It was a much more forward, sexually explicit message than I ever expected in a first contact. And they attached a face pic, so I wasn’t guessing as to their identity. I replied that we knew each other casually and I’d be uncomfortable going forward. They then persisted in wanting my identity, continuing until I blocked them on the site. If something similar ever happens again I think I’ll tell the person they are too old or too youn for my preferences. I’d never confess to knowing them.

  • I've wondered what I would do if this happened to me. So far I've been lucky that it hasn't.

I think I would send a polite, thanks this one's not for me, note and leave it at that. If you let them know you might know each other then you run the risk they either figure out who you are or become curious in asking like mick said above. Using a different excuse is what people do in dating relationships, and it isn't kind or helpful here. They don't need a reason if you just send a polite note that you want to decline or aren't comfortable moving forward and wish them well.

    My two cents anyway.

  • It hasn’t happened to me (yet). If/when it does, I’m in DS.

I would not respond. I think we are all used to being ignored enough to not take it personally, at least not indefinitely. Good thing you didn’t have a photo uploaded, or did you? You didn’t say.

@mickcuddles advice (which he learned the hard way) seems like sound advice.

  • Personally I would love it if that happened.

I'm not sneaking around, I'm not cheating, it's not something to be ashamed of, and it would be easier than starting from scratch with a total stranger.

    But that's just me... YMMV

  • I'm having a hard enough time finding active people in my area, let alone ones that I may know.

There was someone recently , who adjusted their settings in their profile , to display their location as Saudi Arabia , but , the site traced their IP address to San Francisco . This was in fact an attempt , to maintain a level of anonymity.
The website did not approve .

However , if someone does adjust their “ fact” in their profile , It’s best to be honest in any communications ( private messages) with strangers , just make sure they are strangers , before you give away the store .

I dont imagine there are too many female cuddlers in Saudi Arabia.

They would be free oil rich cuddles

@Spoonie - there are in fact lots of people in Saudi Arabia who are from other places. I know many people from the UK who lived and worked there. And many people split their lives between different places.

  • True story. A friend here in Birmingham who was part operator of the now defunct site Cuddlefix, had ended up booking a session. Did not recognize the name nor think anything of it, however when the person showed up, it was her adult sons friend from highschool!! He knew it was her when he booked it. She ended up spending some time talking to him but didn't carry through with the cuddle, as it was too weird for her and she thought he may have been trying to fulfill some sort of fantasy he had from his teenage years. She didn't tell her son about it either lol, and I am sure he didn't tell her son as they weren't really friends anymore by that point.

  • Is this topic supposed to be the very definition of "drama"?

  • [Deleted User]galowglass (deleted user)

Not "supposed" to be anything, but a real situation and where else am I going to get better feedback. So far, the drama has only been in my head. With the great feedback here, I've got a much better handle on that aspect. If real drama happens, you won't hear about that. Thanks all.

  • It's never happened to me, but I like @PinkLipstick22 suggestions. Just tell them you are not comfortable and move on. You owe no explanation, although a kind message saying you are not interested goes a long way.
