I was wondering how many people up here are actually willing to do virtual sessions. Does that scratch the itch just as well?
Even though nothing can compare with actual human touch, those who are not able to cuddle in person and are deprived of one-on-one company can find some solace in virtual sessions. Definitely was important during COVID when you were separated from the world.
@BBGuy I think you hit on something as to why someone would enjoy virtual sessions. People who are looking for basic human connection (conversation, etc) would be drawn to it. I feel the opposite—I talk and perform all day for a living and when I have a cuddle session I am trying to unplug my social side. Sure, I can be very chatty, but I am most happy in lala land with a bit of soft music and human touch.
Virtual is too close to Zoom meetings and work for me, but I understand why someone would use it for your stated reasons. But I do have a question for you or anyone really—if you are having a very good virtual sessions are you sitting there thinking about wanting to just embrace the other person? Thinking about it would be distracting to me and I wouldn’t be relaxed.
This topic has come up before and [in my opinion] has been wonderfully explained by someone whose name I can not recall but who's perspective I wholeheartedly agree with
To summarize- While "virtual Cuddling" may be something people enjoy and find comfort in-it is by NO MEANS cuddling and should be classified as a meeting or any other description anyone would like to give it.
This seemed to have drawn the attention of members who are obviously advocates of "virtual cuddles"
No matter how you slice it- there is no cuddling taking place at all in any way and that is just a simple fact.
If some enjoy this type of interaction and find comfort in it -then I join in the rejoicing of all who are reaping the benefits of virtual meetings under any name you would like to label them.
I have to agree with @BrianOcean on this. The original poll shouldn’t just be yes or no. A third option called indifference should be offered. I don’t dislike virtual sessions; I am just indifferent to them.
They make absolutely no sense to me ... and I will probably never partake in one ... but if they help others ... than that is a good thing.
I'm not interested in it myself, but don't begrudge those who like it. I am leery of pros who offer it and don't have a rate listed for it on their profiles. I had one tell me the other day that she charged the same as for a physical cuddle, which is ridiculous.
I find a half hour video chat (I hesitate to call it a cuddle) is a good way to establish an initial connection and comfort level Three examples of when I use them is first with someone new prior to meeting. I especially mean new to the site. The second is prior to a cuddle session that involves travel or making plans, etc. I feel that solidifies that nobody is wasting anyone's time or resources. Third is when I make a friend who is just too far away to have an in person cuddle session with, but a video chat session help span the miles.
Someone recently asked me if my virtual sessions included content and what stuff do I do...I told him nicely that he misunderstood, and that if he wanted a date or adult gratification to log on somewhere else.
@WriterGF i agree, just the offer of it disturbs me. But i like to believe in the altruistic nature of cuddle and the more we add commerce the less it appeals. I'm not bashing anyone's methods I'm just describing what doesn't appeal to me. And I've participated, even recently and frequently (not virtual), it's just the appeal to the site doesn't seem to be available. But i feel the same about sales in general.
For me, I'm at a cross between what @BBGuy said, and what @TheFunCartel said at the end.
Actual human touch is the best, and when you don't experience it all that often, when you are able to financially, and/or it works out that both cuddlers are in the same city or state, you want to make the most of it. I can't recall ever having done a virtual session to this point. I usually prefer to save that money, and put it toward in person cuddling.
That being said, I am certainly open to virtual sessions. I've found that good company is hard to find, and sometimes just having someone make space for you can make a huge difference. For me, face to face interactions have been harder to come by. So too have even virtual interactions, where you can at least see the person's face and/or hear their voice in live time. The value of seeing someone's face, or hearing someone's voice, I can only speak for myself, but that alone does wonders when I feel so incredibly alone. Also, I'm kinda shy too. So, if I don't feel comfortable doing an in person cuddle with someone yet, a virtual session can be a way to ease into that at a later date.
I'm sure it would be hard not to want to be physically present with the other person, and have that touch and comfort, if the virtual session ends up going better than anticipated. Still, when someone makes time/space for you, even virtually, as someone with mental health struggles, I am very grateful for that.
@sean2589 well said 🤗

@sean2589 Exactly. I believe this is where virtual has value. For you it could be a non-threatening way to break the ice and make a human connection. I am the opposite and just need the warmth and to shut my brain off for awhile.
Ive done virtual sessions and though I personally dont' want to stare at my own face on a computer or phone, I don't mind it. Most that want virtual though (those requests i get) seem to think its an open door to kink. And i report them but nothing happens to them requesting the kinky stuff.
@Auroradream Thank you!
@TheFunCartel I completely understand. Those are two of the biggest benefits to an in person session. My brain is constantly dealing with worries and fears, and amongst what I look forward to most with cuddling is that all of that takes a backseat for the duration of the session. In a virtual session, I know I would still feel like I need to come up with a lot of words to say throughout that time. Not necessarily a bad thing, but just the nature of how it might go. Whereas the warmth of an in person session tends to make it easier to decompress, and just be. Silence or at least having some quiet time during sessions is definitely helpful for the brain.
@KatCuddles77 That's pretty ick.
@ReltvlyCanshes I think the overall message of this thread is to each his own. The commerce aspect doesn't really bother me -- the only "cuddling with strangers" I had heard of before coming to this site was a pro service in Albany, so I came in expecting it to be for pay.
At the risk of Leroy Jenkins into this conversation (and since there hasn't been a voice of the other side yet), I would say that I have found much value in the virtual sessions I have attended.
And I get it; there is no physical contact happening during this time. But I would argue from personal experience that there is a type of touch that happens. And again, maybe my wires are completely different than everyone else's or maybe I have a separate need I didn't know existed(?) or maybe I am just finding all the right people.
I also get the "need to come up of with a lot of words" thought. Every time I say to myself "What I am going to say for an hour?". I am the quiet one in the group that usually lets everyone else do the talking (in person, that is ... online is usually a different story ... especially if I can use gifs). So the thought of intentional dialog almost seems insane. And yet, every time so far, it has almost felt effortless and freeing. And while I can't really explain it well (probably), I can tell you that there is value to be found in virtuals.
Well, good thing is that if you don't agree with what's said on this thread you can always browse the other 12547 threads about virtual cuddling and pick from there
the other 12547 threads about virtual cuddling
Those are virtual threads so technically they aren’t threads.
And i report them but nothing happens
@starrynitecuds yeah, ick is right. I dont understand how they think platonic means im going to be kinky on cam. Like, there are actal sites for that .. and its not this one.
@KatCuddles77 Just tell them your kink is Ignorance and make them watch you do dishes throughout the whole session.
@KatCuddles77 I'm sorry nothing happens when they're reported. I hope you're warning other Pros (if you're allowed.)
No thanks. I'm on zoom meetings all day long. I'm here for a physical connection first and foremost. Any virtual cuddling isn't cuddling, it's chatting and having someone to talk with. Not the same.
