What do you do during this? And do enthusiasts ever do it or just pros?
I could be very wrong, but the only way I would know how to do this would be to wrap myself up in my covers and have a video call with a cuddle buddy. And I have done that with folks from here who don’t live where I do. I don’t think of that as cuddling though, as much as a chat with a distant friend. 🤷♀️
I think it's more about having human contact rather than physical contact.
My experiences with video 'cuddling' has been as a way to meet & talk with a cuddler before we actually have an in-person session. Some of the pros who I've met will do a free 10-20 minute videocall after booking the session to get acquainted, discuss boundaries, etc. It does help make things more comfortable when we actually meet. Have also used videochats in the same way when I'm considering booking someone out of state where I intend to travel to soon.
But I don't see this as a substitute for cuddling, just as a way to get to know each other better before meeting.
