We get energy from somewhere.
Introverts tend to get energy being alone.
Extroverts tend to get energy from being with others.
This is not a yes/no - more of a scale. Some people are Chameleons in the middle.
Neither! Energy sensitive Empath and being around the wrong people is icky, and can make my battery go flat.
Being with the right people charges me up, either one or a larger group.
I am an introvert at heart, I definitely need to recharge via some quiet time after being in a large group. But I have learned how to temporarily “flip the switch” and convincingly behave as an extrovert.
So I would nuance your framing of introvert and extrovert significantly. I would say that introverts get their energy from not engaging with others. As an off the charts introverts one of my favorite things to do is to be around people with no expectation of having to engage them. Movie theaters, small concerts, a coffee shop where I can read a book. Those are magical spaces for me.
I'm an introvert who likes to go out in the world and do extroverted stuff, and then recharge with a lot of alone time reading books, out in nature, or just enjoying silence and my own company.
Raging extrovert with a cave here 🤷🏻♂️
Extrovert who craves human contact and conversation

It’s a false, or at least an incomplete paradigm.
Proudly ambivert.

High five @lovingspoonful! Was waiting for that category!
I think I am also an ambivert. I just got back from a trip with 6 high school friends. We went out one day and had a relaxing time. I was in heaven with all my old friends. Talked up a storm all day but felt no stress at all. Got back to our house and I was done for the day. Had to get in a darkened room and play Lauridsen (ethereal choral music). I do like who I am around other people, though. I think they get the best version of me. 🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽
Yeah, so I would say that I'm a mixed bag here. I am kind of a Robin Williams type. That is to say, I am a "presenter" by trade, and find myself in front of a large group much of the time. I thrive on the engagement and response of the live audience. However, when not "on stage," I prefer to be by myself and gather quiet, restorative energy from not being "on."

Here’s a quote I really liked in that article:
“ We need both. We are both.
Of course, people's personalities differ. We love to, repeatedly, learn this. But the introvert/extravert debate has a polarizing, restrictive effect on our potential to see and accommodate what a given scenario needs — or even what we need right then. Over time, our success shrinks to a minute sphere of what our personality types can "handle."
We resist labels others give us, so why do we give them to ourselves?
Hopefully continued research on ambiversion and situational personality can shed light on what introversion and extraversion really are: self-limiting beliefs.”
If you were to ask me about 2 months ago, I would have told you I was decided 100% introverted. Today, I am still mostly introverted excepted there is a growing extroverted side trying to emerge. I'm not entirely sure what that really means ...
The OP who keeps making new accounts, so desperate for attention (and keeps getting banned) has more issues than Time magazine.
I wonder if he knows he can pretty much say whatever he wants, have multiple accounts, on Reddit???
I use to think i was an extrovert my whole life. But what do be discovered is without a social lubricant 🍹i am solidly in the other side of that.
@lovingspoonfull thanks 4 highlighting that quote.
@Stevieie how did you get your powers? Is this something you are born with or can I learn
