Friends requests without a cuddle?

Hey yall. I can't be the only one dealing with this. I've gotten quite a few friends requests from people that i have not cuddled, and even some that I haven't even spoken to. I'm not sure why? I'd really prefer it to have cuddled at least once before I add on as a friend on here....

  • Maybe they’re the ones posting over in the empathy/psychic mojo thread and perceive that you’ll have a great future cuddle…. 😇

    Nah. 🤣

I’ve seen a few profiles that say “add me as a friend to see my photos”, buts that’s obviously not the case with yours. No idea. I’d just ignore them, personally. You could ask to see what they say?

  • Probably haven't figured out that you can add someone to 'favorites' if it's someone you intend on cuddling later on down the line.

  • @chicky Apparently there are some serial frienders here. Yea I've noticed that as well looking at profiles here.

@chicky it happens, but you don't need to approve the request. I see it like you, friending someone is giving them my "yup, this is a cool person," and it's weird to not even talk first.
@Sooson "Cereal friendly, not serial friender."

  • I agree with @wilderdude. That's what I did when I first joined the site and didn't quite know what I was doing. Was kind of embarrassed later. Lol. Just keep denying them. They'll figure it out eventually.

  • I think everyone doesn't feel friending is a privilege reserved for some. It may be used as a bookmark to identify who they are interested in speaking with. I've never had that issue myself, but i have tried to friend people i haven't spoken to.

@chicky I dont think you can get friend request unless you interact with someone. One can send you friend requests only after interaction.

  • @cuddlebear757 that's not correct. I have received several with no interaction. I hadn't even looked at their profile.

In the olden times , you could send a friend request thru the site without any communication. I believe around 2019 ish was when it changed that you had to have a few message interactions before sending a friend request.

That was about the time in the earlier 21st century when the Great CC Purges occurred. There was a very vocal group on the forums that didn’t want to set the last time online features and wanted instead “inactive “ profiles removed by Admin. But that’s a whole other discussion.

@chicky i sent you a DM thinking this is what happened with your profile seeing you joined in 2018.

@starrynitecuds your profile originated here in 2024 so that is odd you’re getting friend requests without communicating for a bit. Maybe @Mark or @Gary can figure that out 🤔

  • @chicky There are many people on my friends list that I have never cuddles before. I like the friendship/social aspect of this site, as well.

@chicky ~ It DOES seem odd that people who have never interacted with you would ask you to befriend them... Listen to your gut. Do you add random, miscellaneous people to your Facebook or social media pages? If so, why? Listing people as "Friends" is a quiet endorsement of them---are you willing to endorse people whose characters and values are unknown to you? A question only you can answer..

Again.. Trust your gut. Would you even ask a person whom you'd never shared an interaction to befriend you? Then your own heart knows your own answer. Follow that...

@SuperManCuddles ~ If you EVER get to Ohio.... :) lolol

  • @Homesteader Lollol 😁It would be awesome to meet you!💯🎉

  • I’ll have people add me as a friend if they’re talking about coming to my town in the future so that way we can find each other easier when that time comes. I guess I could be using the favorites function for that instead. But maybe they’re using it to tag your profile so they can find it later?

My friends list consist of people I’ve actually met in person, people who I have plans to meet, and people whose town I visit frequently and would like to meet. Plus a couple of new folks who I’ve helped navigate the site. I think the “friends” tag for me is more of a convenience to find people I regularly interact with, instead of trying to find my or their last message.

  • Is being on a list without ever talking to the person whose list it is, not the social media way?

  • @UglyDuckling Not my way on social media. On FB, I will personally vouch for every single friend I have on there, I've met every person on my list. I don't collect imaginary friends or try to look cool, like many people. I shut off being public (saves so much potential drama) and don't even allow "friends of friends" to friend request me.
On here, I'm even more discriminatory. Everyone is a NO. But we can chat via DM here. Nice and easy.
