Crafts or hobbies

edited November 2024 in General

I'm sure there are already threads in the necro garden but I didn't have time to look. Anybody have any hobbies or crafts they would like to share? I picked up friendship bracelets this week. Didnt make it but I'd like to learn . A good human made this one for me. Love the two tone blue simplicity. She made me a rainbow one too but it was too short for my wrist so I put it on my uniskull .

Well, I do like to draw.... I'm not sure I know how to properly include an image, but I'll try!

  • @SnugglyChelle those are really nice!

I make jewelry, like this one I'm wearing today, as gifts, totally self-taught.(YouTube wasn't around 25 years ago.)

Hello, I hope it’s ok to respond to this thread. But something not very many who know me know this about me is I Make dream catchers . It helps me step into a fun mental space that I can call my own. These dream catchers can be traditional using branches , feathers and fur pelts, or “more modern” using colored suede leather strapping and shells. My daughter loves one I made that was geo-dimensional that has two rings perpendicular to each other with the webbing intertwined, along with glow in the dark beads that match the glow in the dark stars on her ceiling. I can share pictures when I get home this evening if anyone is interested in seeing them or learning.

@SnugglyChelle , those drawings are amazing. I love how detailed they are.

I like to disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical watch movements. I’m still learning, but it’s a fun hobby. This one is from 1941 (83 years old)

  • I like working with my hands. I love old cars/trucks and have done several full restorations. At one time I had 12 cars/trucks at home. The blue/blue car was 8-1/2 yrs to restore, the Jeep was 2 years. The big truck was 3 yrs. The wagon is a 1972 Pinto, my 116th vehicle I have owned. I know it’s crazy, lol

I’ve been working on this jacket, the past week. Gluing crystals takes patience lol

  • @waynewv thats awesome. You got some talent there

  • @simsaddict Thats amazing detail. Good job

  • @waynewv Oh wow!!! Those are phenomenal! Gorgeous!

  • @Chris_Cuddlez
Very cool. There's such beauty in those minute, compact mechanisms.

  • @TxTom That is so true. It’s a shame that so many of them end up in a drawer or the landfill. There’s just something so special about an old fashioned mechanical movement.

  • @billiam @Whereami2024 Thanks :3

Wow, these are some cool hobbies!

@Chris_Cuddlez How did you learn watch repair?

I sculpt, though this is the only thing I've ever sculpted. It's a work in progress.

Sorry I did this in 3 posts... I had to figure out how to do this....

I write, direct and edit short films ( but not so good at making movie posters)

    And I do photography:

  • @simsaddict You glued all of those on? Nice work and dedication. Is it relaxing?

  • @SnugglyChelle

I’ve been watching this guy on YouTube “Wristwatch Revival” for a few years, and decided to give it a try. I’m by no means a pro, it’s just a hobby I enjoy, and I learn something new every day.

Doing my nails - I taught myself monomer, acrylics, gels, you name it. It started as a quarantine hobby but I loved it so much and never gave it up. I am being slowly consumed by sparkles and glitter 😂😬! !

  • I do a lot of crafts. I enjoy it so much.
This is a hat that I knit for Halloween.

  • I also do beadwork.

This is an earring I was working on.

  • I enjoy all the creativity of what's been shared.

  • @AMF I love that hat! Is it tiger inspired by chance?

  • @IronLemon Sure! Jig it up!

@billiam yes! It’s so relaxing to a degree until my boredom kicks in lol. I just passed my 16,000 mark.

  • Sister Skinny keeps making progress carving up the wall. Im impressed so far

  • @Sooson "abstract art" is real.
