Lol someone said they thought it was a season where a lot of arrests happen πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I can’t stop laughing.

  • LOL I just heard about this Cuffing Season yesterday. We do sometimes just become a being of nature. It's cold, lets find comfort, makes sense to me.

  • Oh my gosh I am laughing so hard.

It reminds me of this funny movie.

  • But the cold season allows you to try on the metaphorical manacles you will be wearing until divorce or death do you part.

@TheFunCartel Really? In that case, I'm definitely holding out to being cuffed by a werewolf then. 😁🐺

  • @lovelydelight28 Would probably be summer then. Warm weather equals more people out and having a chance to get into trouble in the streets.

  • Just had a guy I went out with a few times last year message me from out of the blue last night. (Nothing bad, he was nice and fun, it fizzled out because of distance and priorities.) I remembered this thread and asked if he was just looking for a "holiday friend for parties and get togethers"? His response, "Who wants to be alone this time of year?" Props for honesty.

As someone who came of age in New England, I never thought of this behavior as motivated by the holidays, but rather by the seasons themselves.

Spring is a time for blossoming, for stepping out, and sowing the oats. Summertime, the living is easy. Autumn has the abundance of harvest, but everybody knows… winter is coming.

Winter is about dormancy, survival, hibernation. We leave our caves as little as possible. It’s far easier to hang in there and keep warm with a mate.
