Record snowfall here in Seoul today! It’s still snowing right now, we have about 9” so far and not stopping. I’m loving it!! So I’m wondering, how do you feel about snow - love the beauty of it? Hate the complications it brings? Wish you could live somewhere with snow or glad you don’t? Maybe you want to move to a hot climate? To me it’s so cozy to be warm and cuddled up inside and watch the snow falling. Since I’m retired and on vacation I’m enjoying it and took a bus ride through the city. Sharing one of my pics and 2 others from online.
Awesome 😎 most of my life have lived in places with little to no snow ❄️, so I appreciate snow currently in Colorado!!! ❄️ 🥶
Thanks for sharing! I live in Dallas and though we’ve had some crazy snowstorms - like the one in 2011 that shut down the city during our one and only Superbowl - we’ve had quite a few winters without any. Many kids have never seen snow! I would LOVE to be able to live in Colorado!
Beautiful! Thanks for posting you two. I miss that Colorado powder.. (veiled plug for January’s Colorado Meet and Greet)
Huh. I read "snow in Korea" and my mind immediately went to the Chosin reservoir and the 1st Marine Division.
I'm very glad that you're able to experience that weather in peacetime.
@Jubal It’s beautiful and peaceful here. Very safe and I can go out walking alone at night to enjoy the snow. It’s record-breaking for November, I read.
You’re welcome and thank you! @g_w_t_w @timbear50 Past two pictures were from Colorado Springs! These are from the Denver Airport!✈️
@SuperManCuddles Enjoy and have a safe trip if you’re flying out for Thanksgiving!
I absolutely love the snow and peace it gives. As long as you’re prepared for it. Cold weather can be harsh when you don’t have what is needed to live through it. Stay warm everyone! Drive safe it it! But I share the love of it!
@g_w_t_w Thank you! On the plane ✈️ now!!!
In Texas and it's 75, sunny, and dry. The grass is brown.
The grass is always brown.
@Whereami2024 Wonderful snowy photos! It snowed all night here. It’s broken a 117 year record in Seoul! Why does the snow feel peaceful? Does it muffle the sound? Or is it that visually the blanket of white that covers everything? I have lots of winter clothes, I wish it wouldn’t be warmer than 65 degrees when I get home @TxTom
Does this mean that Korea has ice in its Seoul?
Seriously, the pictures are beautiful!
@JoyfulHeart lol it seems so. I think we have 8” so far yesterday but just waking up and looking forward to a morning walk!
@g_w_t_w the pics are beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us !! 😊
@OhioMike I imagine you get so much snow where you live. And especially being out in the country, I’m sure it’s beautiful, I’m jealous!
Hoping to get out of Maine and hot foot it back to California before the snows come. I've dealt with plenty of New England storms, nor'easters, and such, but I'm good giving all of that a miss. ❄️🌀🌨
Yes I know, if it’s constant all winter it definitely can interfere with one’s life and be really inconvenient. I remember those days growing up in KC but now I’m in a situation that I can enjoy it. If I was trying to travel, drive to work on ice now (as I have many times in my life) it would be different of course. Have a safe trip back to CA @HarleyGirlKate And everyone traveling for the holidays. Take care. Travel safe!
Thank you, @g_w_t_w, enjoy your holiday too and lovely paintings. Yes, snow is pretty but it gets old after a while, though snowmobiles, snowshoeing and other winter sports can be fun ... I guess.
I’ve only snowmobiled once, back in the 70’s in Colorado and it was the most wonderful experience, would love to again!
It is fun! Not as fun (to me) as motorcycles, but still fun. Hope you get to go again. Are they a thing in South Korea?
I don’t know about snowmobiles but there are mountains surrounding Seoul, I see them all day while I’m walking. And now they are snow covered. As far as motorcycles lol it’s all I see because they do all the food delivery and it’s crazy how many there are and they get reckless and go so fast imo. I’m very careful when I’m crossing these very busy streets.
Hasnt gotten too deep out here yet, im actually surprised. The cat hates it, hes boredom eating because its too wet for his tastes to go play around the farm like normal.
@tacpmurg What a lovely place to live, thanks for sharing! I had to look up 4d6 drop lowest because I’ve never heard of that!
Thank you, @g_w_t_w , I didn't quite make it out of Maine before the snow, but it wasn't a big thing. Just a small amount. Haven't gone back to California yet; a lot of things still to do; hoping now to get out before any major snow hits.
Snow!!!! I love snow!!!
Even when it’s not snow season.
@sr182 Incredible photos, I’m so jealous! Our snow is all gone and it may be a long time before I see it again. I can’t count on Dallas getting any. @HarleyGirlKate Have you made it out of the snow yet? I love it if it doesn’t prevent travel for anyone or cause being stuck in an airport! Still it’s beautiful and just feels like Christmas to me.
I grew up in SoCal which has pretty much only 2 kinds of weather - hot and dry, or cold and rainy. It's nice having actual seasons now.
@g_w_t_w: No, I'm still here in Maine. I am thinking I'll be here for another week, possibly two. Hope to be home before Christmas. 🙂
It is funny. It has only taken me a couple of weeks and I'm used to the cold again. I was downtown today and for old times sake I did a sort of pirouette I used to enjoy doing sometimes when walking on ice. It was fun! ❄️
@HarleyGirlKate Sounds like so much fun and fitting for the season. It’s very cold here but the snow is gone.
