Edit----- To respond to the title of the thread, you can always make more ethical choices as you learn more. Every small change makes a difference and they add up over time.
I don't think that jumping into what ever freeganism is, especially if it involves dumpster diving. But i do believe that understanding the ethical impacts of what we do is important. I am a consumer as everyone else, i enjoy the niceties of life as should everyone else. But we should not pretend there isn't a cost to all the comforts we enjoy. There is a cost to people and everything else. There is a cost just for us to enjoy these things, the exchange of time for money is a cost. If i ever do find a method to have what i need and not sell my time to someone else im all in. I wish that for everyone else as well. I think the largest part of reasoning when it comes to ethical anything is recognizing these things. If we ignore them we never can ever become close to what might be a happy medium. Did someone say freegasm?
