Well, this is awkward…

  • People being irritated by someone wasting time discussing something in forums dedicated to anything, while wasting time reading what people are discussing in forums and making superior comments will never not be funny to me. 😂

  • When you took the photo with her, if you made it clear you were going to post it for the world to see on social media, and she agreed to that, what you do is your decision. The same rules should apply to the previous photo you admitted to posting, whether the same cuddler or not. However, in this day of rampant identity theft and stalking, since facial recognition is now so mainstream, if she is not aware you posted it I suggest it be removed. If you get her permission after that, and I would also suggest you tell her how long it was out there already while doing that, then you, again, make your own decision. Photos taken off many sites, especially those on sites that began as govt sites, are often used in terrible ways today. Many, less than admirable, individuals, use those photos to create profiles on sites nobody wants to be on.

  • @ReltvlyCanshes It's called deductive reasoning. OP started this thread 13 hours ago and hasn't clarified the multiple questions about consent. FYI, he was on this site less than an hour ago. As freaked out as he was about what people thought about them, he'd be quick to defend himself if he had her consent.

  • @starrynitecuds he could defend himself. Or he could have taken good advice and not explained himself to people.

My only point is nothing in his original post had anything to do with the pro. He was speaking to the reaction of his social media friends. Never did he give any inclination that she had an issue. He basically asked how do you talk about cuddling to people not on the site. All the other details were unnecessary. But after the assumption, accusations he may have decided to not engage.

I've reread the post several times now to fundamentally understand if i missed something, but i am sure i didn't. Whoever began the conversation about permission made an assumption and asked, everyone beyond that accepted it as fact.

  • Not everyone accepted it as fact. I understood the issue was about his social media. If you are going to post a Pic of cuddling then it would make sense when people enquire to just say. "We are friends who cuddle sometimes. Check out this cool site for platonic cuddling, it's such a great way to connect with people, make friends etc." End of story. It really doesn't have to be a great drama. If you don't want people asking about it then just don't post those kinds of photos. It's really made to be something more complex than it needs to be. Everyone has a choice what they share on social media and if you have a back bone you just explain things you value when people enquire about them. "I love cuddling and found this great community of people that love to do it too, as friends."
Being clear and honest about things you value is more about your inner strength and character. If it's not something you feel comfortable talking about then just don't post it!! 🌈

  • I agree with @CuddlyKind7 , but I also think he like the attention hes getting here, even if its negative

  • Thanks for all the feedback, folks. I just took the photo down; that seems like the simplest solution. So far, nobody else has asked about it, and hopefully it’ll stay that way. If they do, I’ll just say we’re friends and leave it at that.

  • @HugAnEwok did you post with the pros permission?

  • @ReltvlyCanshes THANK YOU for all the points you were trying to make in his defense. I don't understand why everyone assumes and doesn't just come out and ask. Plus it wasn't relevant to the original post.

@HugAnEwok I agree saying it's complicated is just making the situation more awkward, but you also don't need to tell anyone anything. I've talked about this community with a few friends, relatives, co-workers and 1 nosey neighbor, with mixed results. But quite frankly, I don't care what anyone thinks. Lol. Most people have never heard of this sort of thing and, once they get over the stigma, I think a lot of people would really benefit from it.

  • @SquishyJackie im glad you understood what i was trying to say

  • @HugAnEwok
Saying "it's complicated" seems very inappropriate in this situation, as most people understand that to mean you're sexually or romantically involved.

I second @Mike102's direct question...did you post the picture with permission?

I am not on Facebook, and I feel betrayed when even family posts a picture with me and my boyfriend's faces there, because they know we don't have the platform and prefer to be private, so it feels like a violation.

In any case, I must agree with those who said if you didn't have a plan for explaining who your Pro cuddler was to Facebook, it doesn't make sense you posted the picture there in the first place. Most people are either open, or quiet about their cuddling. It seems either you haven't decided, or, as others mentioned, perhaps you wanted the attention that would come from posing with (what was presumably) an attractive woman.

Feel free to set everyone's questions and assumptions right, if they are wrong. That you took the picture down and didn't address the oft-repeated question regarding her consent seems pretty telling...
