Depends on the spouse. My ex always thought she knew everything and this would be an opportunity to put that theory to the test.
But the real question is this. This is a remote area in bear country and they didn’t have a gun like the neighbor?

The “city dweller” Canadians abhor guns, speaking generally, the “country” Canadians are as die hard and any US enthusiast.
Closest analogy I have is a Californian liberal versus a midwestern hunter. Very different approaches to guns.
Yup. I go to Alaska sometimes, and encounter alot of Canadians in my travels along the way. The 'city dweller' vs 'country mouse' comparison is quite accurate. And when city dwellers venture out into countryside, they're not always emotionally or mentally prepared for the, shall we say, "challenges" that Mother Nature dishes out.
@Mike102 someone looking to enflame the gender war asked a load of women if they would feel safer being stuck alone in the woods with a man they didn’t know or a bear.
I believe a majority of women picked a bear on the grounds that they’d feel safer. Not sure if they were joking or not.
