@GuyverGordon - No. I was fine after I got the drill bit removed which I was lucky it was still at the surface of my skin. They are designed to go in, but hard to pull out. There aren't like needles.

I'm looking forward to when I can get certified. Once I feel like I have enough training, I just need to score 100% on a written test before I can then operate the machines without supervision. There's no time limit. The person who is training me told me it took her 4 months to become certified.

@Mike102 - We can keep retaking it until we do. We have to know everything. One mistake will mess up a panel and they are expensive.

Getting close to be certified. The supervisor in drill let me and my trainer know that starting next week, I will be doing everything myself so he can see how I do. It will include everything from setting up the machine, putting the panels on correctly, loading the correct program, inputting the correct settings, drilling the initial registration holes to look at under the XRay and adjusting the drilling offset if they are misaligned.
The panels are basically copper laminated over fiber glass material. The registration holes are drilled into the four corners of the board then we have to put it under an XRay machine so we can see if it is drilling in the right spot. If it is misaligned, we have to adjust the offset on the machine and drill another set of registration holes and check again. It can drill up to 4 registration holes (on each corner) which means we have four chances to get it right.
I became certified on the PCB drill machines today. I took the written test and passed it on my first attempt.
