Beyond cuddles, what is that one other thing..... ?

I have to say, that lately cuddles is what keeps me going by easing out even my stress levels over and beyond other emotional fillups. In the past for me, meditation was my key way to de-stress and energize myself. What is that one thing or two that keeps you going or de-stresses you or calms you or heals you or fills your emptiness or gaps? I would really like to hear ways my cuddle buddies here keeps up with their positive energy levels beyond cuddles?

Playing guitar is relaxing to me and my favorite hobby.

Being in nature can fill up my tank sometimes. Australia is a beautiful place ... hearing the bird calls around sunset is lovely.

Being in the presence of God (either alone or in church) is the most impacting thing for me though; it feels life giving to me. Someone prayed for me yesterday and it left me feeling very refreshed and peaceful. Though I don't always "live there".

(There's an interesting parallel between cuddles and being with God sometimes ... both can give me tingles through my whole body :) ).

Listening to TK from Ling tosite sigure and Ling tosite sigure music. It's all in the way the lead band frontman plays the guitar or piano. It's really relaxing. Too bad, he can only release so much new music, given his touring, time to think about new music ideas, the music production he himself works on, etc.

@shevchenko277 , that’s wonderful! I once attempted to learn guitar as well as keyboard and yes that was surely relaxing. Apparently, I left that in between not sure why.

@respectful , yes definitely a good one. I used to taken on country side drives of scenic views and stop myself at random spots that made me feel I can breathe with the rhythms of nature while there. Lately that’s been a bit of a challenge for me.

@PasserbyHere , I used to never sleep without a soothing music on or whenever I needed to calm down. Lately, I feel like music I used to love does not do the same magic on me :) . I need to explore new likes for music. Maybe I will check out the one you mentioned out here! :)

I randomly pick from this list out here so won’t bore me out with repeat

@respectful , what do you mean when you talk about interesting parallels between cuddles and being with God? Do you mind elaborating?

  • @Cuddly4Ladies OK ... I have had some significant experiences in my life where I have had encounters with God where I felt overwhelmed with his love, with a strong sense of being 100% known, accepted and loved. You could describe it as an embrace. The physical sensation has sometimes been tingles through my body.

I've also had cuddles where I have felt totally accepted, and "known" to a degree, even with someone I haven't spent much time with outside of cuddling. And some kinds of touch (on my arm or back) sends tingles right through me.

So there can be a similarity in the physical sensations, as well as a sense of acceptance and being known ...

  • Watching movies and going to the gym helps me stay positive :)

  • Sleep, food, good conversation, and lots of cocaine

  • listening to classical guitar instrumentals... oh it's heaven. plus maybe some other instrumentals like violin covers.

  • Going for a walk/ hike, yoga, and relaxing in the sun.

  • Ok so I am joking about the cocaine, I don't really do that. Only heroin.

  • I pick a banjo, and ....Amanda Lynn

  • EFT tapping has really helped me!

@Cuddly4Ladies , interesting approach and good convo between you and @respectful. Sounds intriguing.

@stellarosass , @waywardchild80 , @cuddlerforu24 - good ones! I am tempted to go out in Sun and listen to instruments!

  • [Deleted User]choicesvital (deleted user)

    @RainbowZebraSam , EFT tapping?

  • [Deleted User]galowglass (deleted user)

A holistic therapy. Think "wow, I coulda had a V-8", kind of tapping yourself in the forehead gently. Various methods, handshapes and places on the body. Think accupressure but different.

  • [Deleted User]choicesvital (deleted user)

    Interesting! Thanks @galowglass

  • @pmvines which should I take up? My current choice is kitten snuggles, but maybe coke or heroin would be better? Certainly cheaper when you consider how I spoil my kitties...

Seriously, I snuggle my cats, read, and spend time with good people.

  • @Thellie Remember, I am an ex addict (sober 2 and a half decades mind you) so I can personally attest to both lol. I recommend sticking with the kitties

  • [Deleted User]galowglass (deleted user)

and stay away from the catnip, too. grin

  • @pmvines you recommend the top shelf kitty snuggles. Fine choice. I've got two of those working right now, and they certainly are hitting the spot.

  • Sometimes, I like to listen to some rock and roll, or heavy metal to calm my mind. Something about the controlled chaos is very relaxing. Other times I like to listen to a little opera. The mixture of higher, and lower tones resonates for me. Like Eirei Chinkon by Kawai Kenji, or Ave Maria. And other times it can just be some other genres of music. Pretty much anything that resonates with my soul in that moment.

I also enjoy making things, that can be relaxing, in its own way. Whether it be in real life, or a video game. Like an electronics kit, sewing something, or Legos. As for video games, modded Minecraft, Space Engineers, and Kerbal Space Program can be fun. Of course, I can also find relaxation in games like Just Cause. The scenery, and freedom to do anything can be relaxing.

@Thellie , snuggling pets sounds great! @BenMac , sounds like fun!

  • Listening to music is my one other thing...
