Any big plans/goals for 2025?
Not die of cancer.
Also move house and get a new career/do a Masters, assuming I'm well enough.
Return to US, figure out how to have a job at my age. Stay strong & healthy and continue to walk minimum 2 miles per day. Go to Canada, England and hopefully come back to Seoul by early 2026. More painting. And again - stay young enough to do all this!
Continue to develop business as an education consultant.
My goals are always the same: be happy, healthy, appreciative and kind. Ring in another new year on December 31 (2025.)
Find a job.
Trying to learn to live in the moment. Mindfulness. Not just always being in survival mode anymore. Being stronger 💪 physically and mentally!!!
No not really..I try to not base life goals using calendar years as a metric. I find for me that it gives too much leniency to procrastinate and not do things when they need to be done.
@pmvines That's interesting (the leniency to procrastinate thing). For me, using time-stamped goals, so to speak, do just the opposite. It allows me to get things done incrementally. When there is no time goal, I tend to think it's open ended and procrastinate. Good to know one's own proclivities.
Survive and help my kids thrive
Just keeping it real.
The father of my roommate is leaving the country (roommate is 3 years old). So I think that makes me in dad role more or less. My goals are to be a good dad and to start attending Jiu jitsu classes regularly.
To clarify her mom lives with me too hahah
Also want to stay good with my sleep schedule/8 hrs a night 95% of the time and to pay 2000 extra towards my mortgage every month.
As an aside, note that almost everybody over-estimates what they can accomplish in an hour, a day or a week, and significantly under-estimates when they can accomplish in a year.
And no, I don't know what timescale marks the balance point!
If you study an art or craft for 60 minutes a day, and then spend three 10 minute practice sessions a day on what you study, at the end of a year you will be in the Top 1% of humans at that art or craft.
My plans for 2025 include telling my doctor the truth about how many drinks I have per month.
@gem7 Try some light humor. I was afraid to tell my doctor about something and it went like this:
Doctor: Do you drink?
Me: Not much. Not my jam but sometimes called for . Maybe 10 drinks in a year.
Doctor: Anything else?
Me: Like?
Doctor: Cannabis?
Me: Well I don’t drink much.
Doctor: How much?
Me: Only when I inhale it. And that takes a lot of practice.
She chuckled and said maybe if I got high before I came in she could forgo the questions. She is a great doctor and knows just how to alleviate anxiety around things a patient may be apprehensive about. She is easy to joke with while accomplishing what I pay her to do and everytime she overcomes one of my peccadilloes I find it easier to communicate with her and less likely to obfuscate details of my health.
Withholding lifestyle habits from your doctor is the fear in you pushing away the truth you may not want to hear because you already know what you should be doing. At least that’s why I think I hide pieces of critical information.
