@theCuddleDrgn Generally speaking, Nature evolved men and women with different, distinct characteristics and anatomy for biology's sole purpose of perpetuating the species.
That is, men being more territorial, competitive, dominant; women being more nurturing, social, submissive.
These differences evolved as the best way to guarantee begetting future generations, are hard-wired by millions of years of evolution, and transcend much shorter cultural trends.
Biology is wholly unaware of this little niche in human affection we've created known as platonic cuddling.
Sometimes it is purely culture and cultural conditioning. At any rate, no need to be upset at @theCuddleDrgn for asking a question.
These differences evolved as the best way to guarantee begetting future generations, are hard-wired by millions of years of evolution
That is conflating the biological drive to procreate which is not present in everyone and platonic cuddling.
Who cares! Its called preference. I am only cuddling with the gender I prefer and could care less what others want or do. Can we please stop trying to save the world and fix every perceived social injustice?
@TxTom feminism teaches that this nurturing and submissive nature of women is due to socially conditioning, not biological. Anyways if you do find a man that has these traits, would you cuddle them?
@BrionC Nobody is talking about fixing injustices it's just a question that some may want to explore and others don't. I think you're projecting here
Something I don't agree with at all and unfortunately does tend to happen when this topic is presented is when people try to shame others for not being open minded or accuse them of homophobia etc when it is really just simply about personal preference and what the person is comfortable consenting to. Don't forget that this is all about consent and respecting boundaries. Cuddling all genders is great but it doesn't mean you are somehow better than or more enlightened than the next person, it just means that your boundaries and comfort level is different. I would love for everyone to be open minded to varied experiences and being open to the experiences of others but being non judgemental does go both ways.
@pmvines thank you for standing up for me. I dont think its homophobic because I refuse to cuddle gay people, it is just a personal boundary due to safety concerns, not bigotry
@Mike102 You're welcome, although my statement was not directed towards you it was just my observation of what tends to happen when this topic is presented .
But if you are saying that men who are willing to cuddle with men are exclusively gay then you are missing the point. It's a choice based on comfort level and boundaries, not necessarily sexual preference. Statistically speaking gay and bi men may be more likely to be comfortable with that, but that's not always the case.
@pmvines i agree people should be open minded to this and not be offended. I don't understand why anyone gets angry about it. There are so many topics that come up in here that i am not interested in and never click the thread. I don't get furious and say "i don't care what kind of music you're listening to!!! Arrr" or "why are we talking about reading when we could be cuddling!!!" Or even "poop" i just scroll past like it wasn't there.
But i also hope that people don't look at the resistance to it as some sort of intolerance at least on my part. I'm trying to articulate my thoughts around the matter as delicately and deliberately as i can. Without yelling men get out of my space forever, but if you did i wouldn't be mad.
@pmvines I'm not missing the point because I would be willing to cuddle with men, just not ones that might make it sexual. Unfortunately people think this is homophobic when I tell them I dont want to cuddle with them for this reason
I've been watching this to see how closely it follows previous threads on this topic. So far, I've seen some "it's biology/nature" and "you're oppressing me by saying men should be comfortable cuddling men".
As for me, I'll choose the bear.
(Actually, soon I have my first cuddle with a man. I'm looking forward to it.)
It's a choice based on comfort level and boundaries, not necessarily sexual preference.
Bingo! And if someone doesn’t want to cuddle men that’s cool. Either way is fine. Asking questions about it is not introducing a social injustice—questions are usually asked out of curiosity.
“I’ll choose the bear”
And this is why I no longer approach.
Anyone.
I've been called a bear but that's a whole other story
It’s the nature of men and women. They are different. You see the same behavior with many animals including chimpanzees and even deer. Why do you see a whole bunch of does gather together whereas bucks are more solitary? Testosterone. Same.
Yeah I was just curious and wanted to hear thoughts, I think I see the general perspective here now. I really appreciate how honest people were.
I'd choose the bear too.
Over people
@theCuddleDrgn this is a very good topic to share. I am one of the very few men who is open to cuddle not only women, but men and trans. I don't see any difference between the two. I wish there were more open mindedness amongst a lot of people.
I prefer female touch. Male touch is not nurturing to me. I prefer soft female touch only.
Men, please don't go cuddling each other. Christmas is coming and the paid cuddle providers like me would be out in the cold! Thank you 😇🤗
@Auroradream Best. Comment. This. Month. In. The. Forums! 😄
I personally am more about positive energy, overall connection rather than gender. I have cuddled men, women and trans before. What I find is that people bring many individual qualities to the cuddles, that are not necessarily gender based. Above are my personal view points and experiences. I believe preferences of who to cuddle and not to cuddle are individual choices. I appreciate many different views of cuddle preferences expressed on this forum. @Auroradream 🤣🤣🤣 I know that’s right, get that holiday money!!! 💰
I've found, that in many areas of life, unless you ask the right question, you'll never secure the correct answer.
Using your self description in your profile as "queer", can you answer why you and others are so oriented?
This quest of yours is similar.
Short answer, if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.
@pmvines Yup, I've been called a bear as well. On a cruise last year there was a rather large group of said bears and a couple of times I was approached by several asking if I was part of the group. While I was flattered (and told them as much) I have to wonder if maybe that's why I get so few responses from women I message here - maybe I just have "that vibe".
@Vocalist100 Isn't it ironic that women pick the bears 😂
@Auroradream i think that if men did cuddle each other more often, they would still book femmes/women. Feminine energy is unique, lacking in society and important.
Hi @IronLemon,
Pushing someone to do something there not comfortable with, definitely would NOT be respecting their boundaries which is Vital in cuddling
I think that Everyone's boundaries should be respected whether female, male, straight or not
@IronLemon Nice enjoy the cuddle!🤗🫂💯🎉
@pmvines, probably a stupid question, but what are bears in this context?
@theCuddleDrgn Two things about your mentioning feminine energy.
First, it is unique! I think you answered your own inquiry (or at least what this thread has become). Most men will seek to cuddle women for the feminine energy (or whatever else someone might want to call it).
Second, you believe it is lacking in society? Can you expound on this because from where I'm sitting, it seems to have a significant place in society. At least US society.
