  • Personally, i would not publicly share about any cuddle experience i had, no matter who the co-cuddler was.

Let me guess, this thread may not be for me?

  • @Mr_Cuddle_Bear There's a poll option for that. And no one is forcing you to post anything.

This is a thread for men who have cuddled men and feel comfortable about it to relate their stories. If neither of the previous conditions are true, this is not the thread for you to post in. Simple logic.

  • Some Relevant comments from the last thread.

  • Not sure if I’m allowed to repost comments but hopefully this is okay šŸ™

  • I am ok with mine being reposted here ā˜ŗļø

  • Ok I will share. I only have one story to share and I know I have shared it before somewhere.

I was at a cuddle party on Valentine’s Day. I believe this was last year. I was still new to the world of cuddling (and just became a moderator). I was very curious as to what a cuddle party was so I went. Well, it was great. There was a consent workshop and I really enjoyed the part about speaking up and being able to verbalize saying no.

No one had to actually cuddle anyone so there was no pressure there, but as the evening progressed, I was an approached by an older gentleman that had asked if I would be ok cuddling him. He had recently lost his wife and his kids had all moved out and he just needed some platonic touch. There was no mention of this, but I think he approached me (a man) because he would have been uncomfortable approaching a woman as losing his wife was still pretty fresh and perhaps he wanted to respect that. Anyway, I said sure and just kinda nuzzled up to him on the couch with my head on his chest.

He started telling me about his life and his wife and kids and I listened and was just there for him. He said cuddling with me felt like it had when his kids were younger and not averse to showing affection. It seemed to really hit him hard how good it felt to just be held like that, and by the end of the party he wanted to find out more info on being a cuddle party facilitator because it seemed like he found exactly what he was looking for. (As I recall he had not cuddled a stranger before). It made me feel so good to be able to be there for someone in that way. This was 100% platonic, zero weird vibes; just a man that needed platonic touch from someone as he was dealing with losing the love of his life. It really hit home what all this is about and I am all for it.

  • A third?! Wow, that's great, and more than I was expecting.

But note that that is forum users, not CC in general. The forum is a very small part of the site, and previous experience has shown us that the forum-using population is not necessarily a good proxy for the whole CC population.

  • Awwwwww @CharlieBear what a tender story. Thank you for sharing. I love how a facilitated cuddle party created such a SAFE CONTAINER and some unexpected benefit. That is so beautiful. And I'm sure that gentleman walked away feeling very connected and SEEN. My heart..... so much goodness can come out of such grief. šŸ˜”

(he was) ....just a man that needed platonic touch from someone as he was dealing with losing the love of his life. It really hit home what all this is about and I am all for it.

@CuddleDuncan the number would be even lower than that. If you look at the previous thread, some men who were posting chose not to respond to the poll at all. The results are far from accurate or scientific. Still, gotta appreciate the enthusiasm of the OP.

    @sillysassy I agree 100%.

  • @CharlieBear thank you for sharing.

  • @CharlieBear
I’m very moved after reading your story.
Knowing you as I do, I’m not surprised by the effect you had on someone in need of care. It must have been a very nurturing experience for you as well. Thanks for sharing.

  • @CharlieBear thanks for sharing your story that sounds so sweet

I was moved by @CharlieBear ā€˜s story and thought it demonstrated a beautiful physical expression of compassion and acceptance. I also consider myself to be compassionate and accepting. I could (and would) hold another man who clearly needed to be held, and I would feel good about it. But, I don’t think I could get as much out of cuddling with a man, as I do with a woman, because of the way I am wired.

I was raised at a time (and place) when boys were ostracized and teased for touching other boys. Except during sports or to shake hands, a boy didn’t touch another boy - unless it was to hurt him. My childhood experiences with male touch were mostly painful. Even hugs were usually accompanied by a hard slap on the back. On the other hand, girl-touch was mostly gentle and nurturing.

I can relax and revisit timeless moments of nurture when I’m being held by a woman. I could never do that with a man. I envy people who are wired differently, and I realize this is something I could work on, but it isn’t at the top of my ā€œself-improvementā€ priorities. However, if I were touch-deprived, I might feel different.

    Edited for clarity and grammar

  • @CharlieBear Awesome real life story!!! Thank you for sharing!!!šŸŽ‰

  • @warm_embrace You show an impressive amount of self-awareness. You've clearly thought about this a lot. I'd hug (or possibly even cuddle) you if I could.

I envy people who are wired differently

I understand this far too well.

  • But I don't wanna.

The men who adamantly don’t want to cuddle men remind me of the joke…

I don’t like broccoli, and I’m glad I don’t like it, because if I liked it I’d eat it. And I hate it.

  • Don’t worry, menz. I’m not saying you should eat or cuddle anything you don’t want to.

  • And that reminds me of the billboard (I think it was a PSA about prostate cancer screenings) that said something like, ā€œThis year 30,000 men will die from stubbornnessā€ on which, somebody spray-painted the phrase, ā€œNo, we won’t!ā€

I am three years removed from a lifelong, hetero, monogamous marriage. Over the past year, i've had the great fortune to fall into what is affectionately know as a "love tribe."

Men and women of all backgrounds and ages who believe love and sex are wonderful, powerful and magical things. When we get together we cuddle with everyone.

I've had many occasions to cuddle men, and the experience has been revolutionary for me. It has been approached from a place of comfort and safety. I realize we are all wonderful, vulnerable humans who want and deserve touch.

It led me to this platform, where i've registeted as a professional to "share the love" and earn a much needed second income.

Feel free to respond here or privately if you have any questions.

    @warm_embrace
Most of my cuddles with men have been in safe public spaces where there was no worry of being judged (meet and greets from here and that cuddle party), my first being another member in this very thread (ā˜ŗļø). If not for being introduced to it the way I was, I probably would have been averse to it as well. I am comfortable with it now, but back then I would have been hesitant to cuddle another man. What I got out of it was very different as I wasn’t cuddling for myself but simply to provide comfort for someone else.

    @ everyone
It also shows me why pros do it and why they charge for it. (Totally separate from my story). Sure some do it simply because they need a source of income, but others genuinely want to help others but it can be emotionally and physically draining. If anyone questions why pros do it for a fee, cuddle someone just to be there for them without getting anything out of it yourself. You will quickly find it’s not really sustainable for your own mental wellbeing (as well as your free time) to be spending hours comforting someone when the focus is exclusively on them. It feels really great to help others but I can understand the need to be compensated for it.

  • I was told I could share this lovely share in this thread. :)

  • [Deleted User]jimmylee (deleted user)

@CharlieBear I appreciate your point of view about pros being compensated. I have no issues with them getting paid one iota. Just two reflections from what you shared. First, While I cuddle primarily with enthusiasts, I have come in contact with a few pros over the years. To the person, they have ALL said they were doing it for the extra income. No exceptions. Second, I have spent cou8ntless cuddles and countless hours being there for my cuddle partner, with the focus being completely on them (including one pro). Yes, it is tiring and exhausting, but I'd do it all over again (and again). I know tiring and exhausting because I am the sole caregiver of a mentally disabled spouse. I might be at an unfair advantage because "doing therapy" has been part of my formal and informal training over the years.

And I do this without charging a dime. As a matter of fact, I am the one who pays for the room for our cuddle. I'm not looking for sympathy, I'm not looking for applause, and I DO support the pros here. They are amazing people. The only difference between them and me, though, is I don't charge. (Well, and the fact that most of them are women. That's different.) :)

  • as someone that has had a couple of m4m cuddle sessions I think it's most important to me that I don't feel as though I'm some weird fetish. Why make being held or holding someone weird for any of the parties involved? Drop the ego and hug me coward!! Hahaha all jokes aside it's only weird if that's what you/the cuddlee is projecting

  • My experiences as a cishet male with same-gender affection run pretty deep. I received most of my physical affection growing up from my father, and I also had five sisters—no brothers—so expressing closeness through physical affection with men has always felt natural and normal to me, even though I’m attracted to women. I’ve never felt that my emotional bonds with men should be limited or defined by sexual orientation.

That said, I’ve had some boundary challenges with gay cuddle buddies. Two of them tried to convince me that I was gay, which led to falling out with both. However, I eventually got back together with both. One returned later and said, ā€œOkay, I get it. You’re straight, but you love me.ā€ The other I reunited with over the holidays... I guess we'll see how it goes. I’ve learned a lot through those experiences about respecting boundaries, and how deep emotional connections can exist between men regardless of sexuality.

I’ve always admired famous cishet men who have expressed emotional and physical closeness with other men in ways that resonate with me. Figures like David Bowie, Muhammad Ali, Jack Kerouac, Kurt Cobain, Marlon Brando, Ernest Hemingway, James Dean, Abraham Lincoln, Matthew McConaughey, and Jake Gyllenhaal are just a few examples. I admire them for their incredible legacies and the way they demonstrated affection. Emotional bonds between men don’t have to fit into a narrow definition of masculinity.

The cultural shift in the past 20 years has made it more acceptable for men to express themselves emotionally and physically with other men in non-sexual ways. It's refreshing to see that more and more men are embracing the idea that platonic affection is a natural part of human connection, regardless of sexual identity.
