Working on holidays

[Deleted User]donhulio (deleted user)

I'm curious to know what various pros think about cuddling on holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. I would imagine there could be quite a bit of business those days, since, at least according to a few pros I've talked to, a lot of clients deal with loneliness. But then of course many of you have families and plans.

So what do y'all do? 🙂

Also, curious to hear from the guys whether you would want to book a cuddle on a holiday. I am very lucky to have family get togethers on those days, but I know many aren't so lucky.

  • I think this is a great question and I imagine there are many people who are alone on holidays and would love to spend it cuddling. Personally I might prefer it to all the responsibilities of family, cooking, gifts, some uncomfortable discussions around the table lol. Don’t get me wrong, love the family but holidays can be stressful.
Cuddling up on a quiet wintery day with blankets and nice music sounds amazing!

  • I myself am still pretty new to Los Angeles or west coast in general.

I’ve had a few people who are coming to town to see family but want to get away from the madness and have a cuddle. Families can be toxic or just difficult.

I’ll be available for cuddles on the holidays. Even if I was back in Michigan I would probably still be bailable for at least parts of the day.

  • I don't celebrate thanksgiving so bring on all the cuddles lol

  • Like most people it's gonna depend on whether or not they are spending time with family and friends or doing any of the traditional holiday jazz. For me thanksgiving and Christmas are prioritized as family time and rest days. I don't care about getting into the politics about it as over the centuries they have come to represent family and rest and appreciation for my fellow humans. And Mac and cheese .

I would likely be more interested in doing something on Thanksgiving, since I am alone on the holiday every other year (and when you're alone, Thanksgiving is just another Thursday).

Welp too bad that @WriterGF and @Janelle19 apparently live like 2500 miles apart 😂

    @donhulio It's all good, I can't afford pros anyway :)

  • Should pros get double or times and a half of they are asked to work on a holiday?

  • I'm guessing the above question is more "tongue in cheek" but always a good reminder and for new folks ... Professional Cuddlers are independent contractors who can set their own pricing, etc. So really up to them on pricing matters and working days. Check in with them .😊

  • Be careful what you wish for! “Holiday fees” might be added to travel fees, hosting fees, and everything else, lol. 😂

@UglyDuckling "should get" is a nebulous thing. I would wonder if some of the more popular pros might will be able to get business with a higher rate on holidays. Though honestly I am always looking for a deal, not the more expensive option 😅

More importantly though, I think it would be very considerate of us to tip them well. 🙂 Kindness goes a long ways, and holidays are a good reminder of that.

  • lol @UglyDuckling they set their own rates so they can bump it up to whatever they want 😂

  • I am so happy to cuddle on holidays no matter where I am

  • I'd definitely go for a cuddle on a holiday, they are usually free day and i shouldn't have many obligations. But if family is gathering I'll be there.

If not, a day in bed it is. I don't enjoy the holiday fare so dinner isn't a deal for me either. But i would not even consider paying an increased rate. Since id rather cuddle for free id just expect to go without. Enthusiasts aren't available most regular days so I'd suspect there would be less in holidays.

If any pros are holiday cuddles my arms are open.

  • Personally I'd enjoy to cuddle on any holiday, but most of the cuddlers I see have families, so that's out. I usually just sign up for extra shifts at work, since it's double time and a half. Gotta pay for cuddles somehow!!

@broncoguy45 I had a friend who made a point of never taking vacation days over the holidays. She said no one was at the office during that time anyway, so she just sat around and gamed all day.

I’m a Certified Massage Therapist and chiropractor. If the session is booked in advance; I don’t mind cuddling on Thanksgiving or Christmas. I would not like a last minute day of session however. I woukd also be ready for it to be a highly emotional session.

  • Just reading this, but I do have more availability around some holidays. Depends on the year.

  • @donhulio I personally wouldn’t have minded cuddling on a holiday. I don’t have family around where I am, and I ended up spending Thanksgiving alone, which wasn’t the best, lol. So honestly, I wouldn’t have been opposed to a cuddle it would’ve been a nice way to pass the time and feel connected, especially when holidays can get a little lonely.

  • If you cuddle on Thanksgiving avoid eating the cranberry sauce. It is a diuretic and nothing is worse than persistent potty trips messing up the feng shui of cuddle blankets.

This has been an obligatory Holiday PSA. Thank you.

  • @TheFunCartel wow you are back already? We missed you

I would have no hesitation cuddling on a holiday. My family usually gathers on days other than the actual dates due to scheduling conflicts. So sure, bring on the cuddles. The dates of Thanksgiving and Christmas are arbitrary anyway (Jesus was likely born in the Spring, so ...). Same rate. 😁 (I understand the OP was directed to pros, and to the men who customarily book cuddles with them I'm neither, but thought I'd give my two cents just the same 😊)

  • Holiday, Birthday, or an anniversary I'm up for a cuddle at the same rate as long as I'm feeling well.

  • I can’t think of anything I’d like more on Christmas or NYE than a cuddle session! Except maybe two sessions. 🎁✨ As long as it’s booked in advance.

  • I think a holiday snuggle sounds great.

In particular I’ve been thinking a New Year’s Eve cuddle sounds really nice. I’ve been traveling and working too much to really enjoy the typical New Year’s Eve party. But a quite cuddle, with warmth, cocoa, and a great conversation would be a pretty positive way to reflect on the past year, and give thought to the new.

  • Not a CC Pro, but I am "working" over NYE/NYD. Being paid to dogsit 2 sweet but anxious dogs. They are cuddly and need A LOT of interaction (2-3 walks each per day, snuggles and playing and no being gone longer than 4 hours). In the last month, I've had several unique dogsitting jobs fall into my lap because of my availability and word-of-mouth praise from a happy client.

Not a cuddle pro, but every job that I have held since my very FIRST JOB (at 15 yrs old) I have always worked most holidays especially the spring and summer holidays like Memorial Day, Easter Sunday, July 4th when it comes to the winter holidays Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day will always be "working holidays" for me. 😁

Due to my accepting another job offer (it's a DAY SHIFT job offer, I know... Surprise to me too! 😀) and over my current job (which is another night shift position 😌) that I obtained last month, this Christmas Eve coming will be the FIRST EVER that I will be off on in ages. 😆

That's only because I start the day position way after Christmas, so I decided to put in my resignation notice (with my current employer) so that I can work on sleeping at night 💤 😴 again AND enjoy my FIRST Christmas Eve off in ever before I start back working my new job. 😁 🎄

  • To me, the holidays are when people are at their loneliest, so it seems like it would be very in demand. Honestly, I debated it. 1st year empty nester so all up in my feels lol

@LetsCuddle44 That makes perfect sense, but, it doesn’t seem to be in demand.
