@GuyverGordon are you talking about the OP now? 😉

  • @GuyverGordon
Exactly! Very literal and symbolic and the first adult book I read at age 10 (1960) and it had a big impact on me. I was raised in the north and I learned a very different perspective.
Also I’m in a very different life now that I’m retired. Also felt gone from cuddling once I changed to Enthusiast from Pro. And just mentally gone from so many situations in my life.
I highly recommend taking charge and finding new solutions! Creative thinking - outside the box.

Just as an aside, today was the first time I noticed a pro with an Amazon wish list in her profile. Mods took care of that in a hurry.

  • @WriterGF
What a turn off. Glad you reported. Some people have no clue about the purpose of this site. I’ve been seeing some pretty awful profiles pics lately. I seriously would pay a small membership fee just to keep the awfulness out, if that would help.
And I can afford it less than anyone here I’m pretty sure. But it would be worth it to clean things up here.

  • @g_w_t_w Out of curiosity, what led you to use the first of every letter there?

  • I don’t know, maybe too many words to type out? I’m not that complicated, and maybe I felt that if anyone bothered to wonder, they would figure it out. Those who know me well, did.
    And you did! 😊
(I was leaving, changing my life drastically, everything uncertain, no idea of the future, I’m now just floating along with no plans)

@g_w_t_w I always like to hear the origin stories of names that are not too obvious; it is funny, I always wondered about yours. I'm glad I was able to figure it out 😄

So now you’ll have to explain yours. I feel it’s a reference to something I should remember.
Guyver rings a bell. Actually I like to wonder about the names people choose here, usually have a personal meaning!
    A bio-boosted human??
    I remember a tv series McGyver…

It is one of the two (at least the first half of my name is). Most people I talk with mistakenly think it is the later. Growing up, a saw a movie based of an anime (which later I watched and enjoyed) called Guyver. I fell in love with that name and adopted it always with my online screenname.

Gordon is a relatively newer addition to my screen name. I am Scotish on my mother side. Some time ago I discovered that my family came from the Gordon clan.

  • Lots to unpack here: some discriminatory, some MYOB, some reminders about karma and assumptions.
    1. Am I missing the spot where it states when OP became a pro? Was it right from the start of his membership or was it last week? That karma may have been from being a non pro. Karma doesn't get removed when status changes.
    2. Interesting, I see female pros offering free and heavily discounted cuddles to other female pros in their profiles, so that's ok, but if a guy does it, it's not?
    3. I just read a post by a female pro who was asking for advice on getting free cuddles. Happy to report that everyone who has responded to her so far has been kind and understanding, not blasting her or accusing her of gypping the site of its commission.
    4. It seems reasonable, OP is not forcing anyone to cuddle with him, is he? His monthly charge is a flat fee regardless of his rate or number of cuddles. Not the same as females.
    5. How much OP chooses to charge, or not charge, is HIS choice. I don't see a mandated minimum price listed by the site. He paid his fee. (It's an abomination if we question pros charging $500/hr or $200 travel fees for an 11-minute drive. Extend him the same courtesy.)
    6. Some people have shown concern about his karma, but it's been repeatedly stated that it can be given when any 2 members meet, Plus Karma does NOT require cuddling.
Pros also can meet other pros or clients for a complimentary walk or 1/1 meet and greet or cuddle. Or even a group meet and greet, like the one coming up. Then they can leave karma.

  • @GuyverGordon
It’s all making sense now. And thanks for the explanation. That clan crest is cool!

    @starrynitecuds 👏👏👏

I agree, and your points are well made.

Sadly, this is an utterly uneven enterprise, especially in terms of distributed demand.

I have no problem with @RenaissanceEQ using the site terms and rules to gain whatever advantage he might be able to use to get new clients, or even better treatment from the professionals he might spend time with.

I think, as with virtually every other male professional, he will eventually find there is a very narrow and rare range of clients for male cuddlers, and certainly not enough to cover the monthly fee on a regular basis. (For real, this is a business. If enough professional male cuddlers were able to generate more revenue for the site with a % based fee, that’s exactly how the site would charge them.)

But hey, it’s his money, and if the monthly fee for the professional tag is worth it to him, for whatever reasons, good for him!

  • @g_w_t_w sure thing, thanks for asking 😁
