I was working on some projects over the last week and thinking about how much fun it is to CREATE! There are tools used for each craft (regardless of gender that uses said tools) but it was just funny for me to see this overlap. Maybe other people will be able to relate... Maybe not, but it seems like it might be a fun comparison. 😊

Our own @Mike403 recently got a job at a company where the drill bit machine punches holes in different types of material and it made me think of all of the years I have been sewing. #punchingholesinmaterial Just in an entirely different world.

This week I am installing some flooring and also sewing some baby blankets for a friend. I have a mat and rotary tool to cut fabric, and this super cool compound miter slider saw to cut wood. Funny part is how much I love doing BOTH things. Making blankets AND creating a fun and interesting floor in my guest room. The tools are so similar.... yet...... DIFFERENT!!

    I agree. Some of those tools like Channel Locks are SO good for things like jar opening. Otherwise I’d have to flip through those old people AARP magazines and find one of those “jar opening helpers” that they sell in multiples because hand strength goes down.

    So many things I found out can be useful but if I wouldn’t have had the tool, I would’ve fought with something else.

    Like a Jig Saw for carving pumpkins FAST as well cutting holes in cabinets for plumbing 😂

    That's me typing on a phone and missing one of the many typos that always occurs when I'm typing on a phone. I miss those brief days when phones had physical keyboards.

    It should be a "how screwdriver".

    @IronLemon totally get it!!! Typos are a real thing… I have to constantly edit. 😂

    This is kind of a funny story. (Funny to ME that is!!)
    I used to be a cake decorator at a grocery store. The bakery had clear plexiglass so they could watch us decorate the cakes and talk to us about their orders etc.

    One time I had a concrete crew come in. As some of them were getting bread and donuts etc. a few of them came over and were chatting me up. They asked if I was looking for any side work because frosting the cakes looked VERY SIMILAR to the concrete work they did. (Especially because I liked to makes the cakes look really really nice and smooth etc.)

    Turned out that in my next life, I helped with concrete a LOT while working on some construction stuff and my training came in super handy! Cakes & concrete pours. Come to think of it, it worked really well for laying tile too!
