@CharlesGrove, I assume you make enough money to pay what ever rate the pros charge.
I'm not currently in that fortunate position. And at a time when I need it the most.
Me, I don't think that organizing to extort lonely and in need people is any were close to ethical
Or did I misunderstand your intent?
@DavidJH I could afford a professional financially, but I cannot afford them emotionally.
I tried once, and it simply didn’t work for me.
Too many experiences working in a similar industry for me to be comfortable with, let alone get anything of value from, that transactional exchange.
But I am always on the side of workers getting more money, and in the safest possible environment with the best practices, for that job.
I don't like when people start bringing up terms like non ethical and extortion when talking about cuddling. It's not a matter of ethics. It's a matter of choice. Nobody is extorting you. You can hire a cuddler or not. And charging a rate you are comfortable charging for your time is not a matter of ethics. This is not healthcare or therapy, please don't conflate and get it twisted. And don't try to shame people who charge a rate you don't feel comfortable with , or who charge in general as there does seem to be a slight undertone of resentment about pros existing.
@pmvines, you're right, I should refrain from being judgemental and only stick to the facts
True, Cuddling is not technically Therapy in the sense that it's not a licensed practice like Psychotherapy,
But for me personally, a Platonic Cuddle session with someone who you believe actually cares about you and is not being purely transactional, is Highly Therapeutic
And on the contrary, as @CharlesGrove alluded to, a purely transational Platonic Cuddle session is emotionally taxing
And is much more emotionally taxing when you feel it's a caring experience only later to come to believe it was in fact, Only Transactional
I think you misunderstood, if all Cuddlers agreed to all charge very high rates, I would in fact not be able to (responsibly) choose to pay or not and therefore miss out on a Very therapeutic experience.
@CharlesGrove, in a purely transactional Platonic Cuddle Session, I am in full support of the cusdler charging what ever they can get when both parties understand that it is in fact purely transactional
I feel like some men make generalizations about what a Pro is thinking and feeling. Is it an assumption that a Pro can’t be caring, sincere, nurturing and kind just because she is charging for her time? I can’t speak for everyone but I know there are many women Pros who put their heart & soul into cuddling. Women also need a source of income for their time, just like men do. They have to spend their time earning money to pay living expenses. Artists put their heart and soul into creating and they need to use that talent for earning money. Otherwise they will have to get a different type of job to earn a living, then they don’t have time to create.
@g_w_t_w, I agree 100%, I would want truly caring and nurturing pro cuddlers to charge for their time so they can serve more people rather than wasting valuable time working other jobs to pay the bills
This is is why I qualified my statements with 'Purely Transactional' and 'Only Transactional'
I wasn’t sure if I was making sense so thanks for understanding what I meant. I will reread your comments. I think I just wanted people to see it from a different POV that a person can be caring and giving and enjoy their work and still earn money. Just like all the people in social work and the medical professions. Hey, the guy at the tire store was very caring today when making sure my car was safe to drive. He clearly cared, he’s getting paid.
I never come to this side of the forums and now i know why.
I find it quite amusing when people complain about a professional's pricing. The reality is that there are professionals offering services at nearly every price point, catering to a wide range of budgets and needs. Yet, instead of seeking out a Pro whose rates align with your financial situation, some choose to fixate on the one whose pricing is beyond their reach. It's as if they’d rather gripe about affordability than acknowledge the value and effort that go into providing those services. If something is out of your budget, it's perfectly fine—just move along and find a Pro who fits within your range. There's no need to shame someone for knowing their worth.
@brownglucose I see that happen a lot. I have also read in this forum that some women base their prices on how attractive they consider themselves to be. So things are all over the place here and we can’t change what we don’t control. Easier to just be pragmatic about it all and find what works best.
@brownglucose - I don't care what somebody charges, but accusing me of being creepy or non-platonic for doing nothing other than clicking on her profile twice is a little weird. It sounds like she's fed up with men who are crossing boundaries which is the reason why this thread exists.
@g_w_t_w exactly. Charging for cuddles doesn't manufacture my care, but it sure allows me to be available for people and to take the time to really focus on them, when I otherwise would really need to be clocking hours with another job. I greatly appreciate everyone who comes to visit me for a session (or who hosts me), my care is authentic, the money just affords me the ability to give that time to many more people. 🙏
On the pricing point, I appreciate being able to make my own choices, based on what I value and what I want to focus on. Honestly, I love overnights, so those are my best value, greatly underpriced relative to other professionals. That is my choice. Most professionals prefer the shorter hourly sessions, so their overnights are more expensive which discourages them. I won't do shorter than 1.5 hours and my hourly rate is pretty mid ranged. 🤷♀️ Every professional is different, and that's something that is awesome!
Everyone (especially the ones who complain about Pros) could think about their own job, their own income, whether they want to be respected and paid for what they do for work. Why should a caregiver be any different or less deserving than to be paid for their time?
There are those who come here to find a mutually giving cuddle buddy bff and there are others who come here to work as a Caregiver. Isn’t there room for everyone? (and there are others who should be on a completely different type of site)
Maybe CC should have 2 separate cuddle sites!
@g_w_t_w I have no issue with pros basing their price on how attractive they think they are. It’s really none of my business how other providers decide to market themselves. Their business their choice.
Charge whatever rate feels right for you, whether that’s high or low—there’s no obligation to make your services accessible to everyone. This work is deeply personal and comes with significant risks, so it’s essential to value yourself and treat your role with the seriousness it deserves. 🤷♀️
@brownglucose You may not realize that I was agreeing with you. Free enterprise and isn’t it generally known that being physically attractive earns more $$$, more opportunities, etc. common practice since beginning of time. Human instinct but also “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder “
