Chag Chanukah Sameach!
"They tried to kill us. We won. Let's eat."
Here's a traditional Chanukah song, although I've never heard this variant before.
And here's a somewhat less traditional song.
Gotta have the Adam Sandler version too!
Can't say I've ever been a fan of Adam Sandler.
But Tom Lehrer is always good!
@lonelytauros THANK YOU!! ๐๐คฃ it wouldnโt be Christmas without Sandler!!

I dunno why the little picture doesnโt pop up, but itโs Jack Black welcoming the day with a blessing ๐
As a Jew, thank you.
@MarigoldBloom Chanukah, not christmas.
My sons partner is Jewish but celebrates Christmas. He actually a few years ago converted from Catholicism because the Catholic church is not accepting of his sexuality nor gender identity. Jewish faith was a better fit. I'm an atheist so acceptance through faith identity isn't an issue fortunately, but I can see where for those who have faith where it can be a conflict and struggle.
One of my good friends from the site is a rabbi. I won't say names because it's their business, but I have learned from her how accepting and LGBTQ friendly her place of worship is and I think it's great! Even did a blessing of the animals where people brought their pets for her to bless. What a hoot!
@pmvines My parents have a friend who converted to Judaism after his priest told him to stop asking so many questions. So he found a religion that encouraged questions. (The Jewish lawyer stereotype exists for a reason)
I seem to recall the chief rabbis spoke in support of LGBT people, so I'd expect all reform, all conservative, and most orthodox shuls to be welcoming of LGBT people. The ultra orthodox ... well, every religion has its extremists.
I tried to look for the chief rabbis speaking in support of transgender people, but what I found were articles about a transgender rabbi and this article from 2018 which I found interesting to read. It's an interview with an orthodox rabbi who is leading a trans-inclusive movement.

@lonelytauros So you hit Arby's for the dollar menu again? JK looks good. What can I say I'm a man of countless talents, but I guess that goes without saying. I also set the virtual Menorah on auto so I don't have to mess with it every day.
@Sooson : Aside from services and helping my little practice, my Ivrit is incredibly rusty. I saw my error and said โehโ. ๐
You have a virtual hanukkiah?! My crazy house has 7 different ones, 5 real, 2 electric
@Sooson what you think of my latkes? ๐
I suppose technically that's fried, and most likely made out of potato. But where's the sour cream?
