Appreciation through respect

Any healthy relationship, friendship, family, romantic relationship, etc. starts with mutual respect. Boundaries are stated clearly as to defining appropriate touches. Cuddling is a healthy outlet for healing and platonic touch. Keeping ones boundaries without needing to be asked is a great show of respect and it is a way to honor the other person. Beauty is not synonymous with sexy. Society has put too much of an emphasis on how sexiness is beautiful, but what are we really saying to women? Please show consideration when with others as women are more than a set if boobs and a nice butt. Show this through your actions and win her heart and mind before you try to woo a woman by telling her how attractive she is and by trying to touch her inappropriately because she looks good. Every person is valuable, treat them as such. I prefer not having to remind people cuddling is platonic. What are your thoughts?

Nice forum @choicesvital ! hope people read that more ;p

  • platonic touch is about understanding your and your cuddler's expectations, defining boundaries, everyone has them, and honest communication.

  • Beauty is not synonymous with sexy. Society has put too much of an emphasis on how sexiness is beautiful, but what are we really saying to women? Please show consideration when with others as women are more than a set if boobs and a nice butt.

Thank you for this part. I think a lot of folks should refrain from describing me as sexy as it's not very appreciated during a platonic cuddle session.

@Sweetmama, I also found an anecdote that touches the same aspects - https://www.cuddlecomfort.com/forum/discussion/3224/ecology-of-the-cuddler
@respectful did a great job using anecdote to say probably same what you expressed here!

@Sweetmama - "Society has put too much of an emphasis on how sexiness is beautiful"

And the worst purveyors of this message are women's magazines, take a look at the advertisements in magazines like Cosmopolitan, Elle, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Glamour.
