Cuddle Couch Surfing

Is cuddle couch surfing a thing? because I feel like it could be. I like to travel. Instead of paying for hotels, I could couch surf but with other cuddlers.

@Catoline At that point it’s basically staying with a friend, right?

I have couch surfed plenty, especially when I was touring as a musician.

It always boils down to trust, their hospitality, your courtesy, and being polite and kind.

  • @Catoline I have done this before and received many offers to do so. Whether a cuddle buddy offered to host or I did! It’s a lot of fun with positive energy people!🤗 🛋️ 🛏️

  • I love this idea!

Is that allowed as a pro with clients?

  • Yes it is allowed with a professional and client. Very tricky, though.

Having a sofa-mate sounds like a good idea.

What an interesting and unique post. It sounded like a total win-win and I was happy to see California was on your list, and since I live in Los Angeles, I read further.

Although a bit rough around the edges, all in all you did a good job of expressing yourself - what you had to offer, what you were seeking, your cuddling amenities, your cuddling boundaries, very clear, specific and direct……..……..until you said that anyone that didn’t vote for Kamala Harris was a flat out deal killer for you. That was the longest record scratch I’ve ever heard.

Moreover, although we are supposed to keep politics off this platform, the 2nd 1/2 of your profile was so harshly worded I just wanted to let you know that it IS possible for a person to share your views on women’s rights, LGBT rights and other things while ALSO voting red! I won’t get into the specific arguments because politics here are a no-no, but then when you say that you like cuddling “all types of people” that’s patently false. You immediately just eliminated over 50% of the population. And then on top of that someone also just PM’d me saying you had some inappropriate copy in your profile about cis men and transphobia that was apparently flagged and removed so I’m thinking ummm, maybe not so much…

As I continued to read on, it just got worse. Your whole “my way or the highway”, “I deserve money”, and proclaiming you are a “pillow princess” as you put it (which is normally a sexual term) but meaning what here - that you just lay there and expect everyone to unilaterally cater to you and give you the energy that you are entitled to, and without giving back?)…. What ‘s THAT attitude all about?! www dot red flags dot com.

This all reminds me of that GREAT Black Mirror episode Nosedive.

Although political discussions are against the rules on the message boards, I’m not sure if that policy applies to profiles. IDK I’m not a mod. All I’m saying here is I invite you to re-examine your profile wording.

I wasn’t sure if I should’ve messaged you privately or publicly, but when you post on the message boards, it will obviously bring attention to your profile, so there it is…

  • All I’m saying is I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to possibly re-examine your profile wording as I think there might be a better balance of expressing yourself honestly and without compromising your principles.

No, leave it just the way it is for all to see.

    Boundaries are NOT NEGOTIABLE.

And, even if I did not personally agree with their boundaries I would still respect them.

I think a person's profile should reflect who they are and what they want.

You are allowed to express your political beliefs on your own profile, and if politics would get in the way of cuddling, no one is forced to cuddle someone because of it. No politics is a forum rule, not a profile rule.

A more gray area may be primary profile photo since that is viewable on the forum.

@CharlieBear Since i was just labeled a [...], is it ok to mention that in my profile?

    @Sooson
Ha I would recommend against it since it would turn people off to your profile but the primary concern is that there is nothing non-platonic. I have seen some pretty racist stuff (like not cuddling certain ethnicities 😳) in profiles that were surprisingly allowed.

Edit: This is not something I see many reports of (though I mainly look at non-platonic reports) so I’d probably consult the admins if I saw a report about that.

  • I would be so open to doing this with my girls and gays. 🥰It can get kind of boring holed up in airbnbs and hotels while traveling

I absolutely will leave it on my profile. It’s only offensive to people it’s meant to be offensive to, which is anyone who weighted my rights below money or whatever else they value more than me. How ashamed I would feel for someone to go out and vote against my rights, then come back and expect to touch me. How safe can I be with someone who only values my body to the point it serves them? I still have the right to decide who touches me, so I’m sorry, think of others next time.

Back on topic, thank you all for the feedback on cuddle couch surfing. I think I might have to try that.

I used to host on couchsurfing, back when I lived in NYC and before they started charging and changed the whole vibe— I saw a few familiar faces from cuddlecomfort (pros especially) pop up as travelers looking for places to couchsurf (most did not mention they were cuddlers on their CS profiles), and I also mentioned it to a couple of people who eventually joined as successful pros who were couch surfing with me and needed a side gig. So yes, it happens, but with all the caveats others have mentioned.

@Catoline is my hero. Way to tastefully redirect the convo while reaffirming your boundaries!
Edit to add: Living in D.C., I haven’t needed to set strict boundaries around ideology in my profile, but I can understand why it would be more necessary if I lived in Alabama or other rural red areas. That being said, I feel fortunate to be doing pro cuddling because I want to, not because I have to. This allows me to be selective and prioritize clients who make me feel safe. I think OP did an excellent job of addressing this dynamic in her now-deleted profile—it’s clear we’re all aiming to attract the best clients. It’s reassuring not to have to be accessible to cuddlers I don’t want to work with. So, if you see a pro whose profile doesn’t resonate with you, why lecture them about it? Just move on because someone else will appreciate it. Enough w the what-about-me-ism.

Additionally, to the pros reading this, posting in the main forums puts a magnifying glass on your account. That can be both a blessing and a curse—it means more exposure, but also more scrutiny, flags, and reports. So keep that in mind When posting. Or just follow the rules. 😅

  • My body, my choice in cuddling. 🥰 On another note, perhaps a cuddle couch surf mega thread might be worth posting in the cuddle request thread

  • @brownglucose Good idea. I will make a post in a bit if no one else does.

  • This is an absolutely fascinating thread......thanks to all who have participated and shared their perspectives candidly.

While couch-surfing has limited appeal to me as a subject to discuss, Marc's response definitely inspired me to check out Catoline's profile....and to read the profile. While I completely understand Marc's perspective, I think Catoline has every right to limit her patronage. Why would she want to cuddle with someone with whom she disagrees with so strongly? And to worry about the content of the conversation? Or the energy surrounding the touching? As a business owner, you definitely have the right to discern to whom you provide services.....as do escorts, so I was a little confused about the reference there?

But I wonder how you might think of a baker who refuses to bake a cake for a gay marriage? Of course baking is different from cuddling, I was just wondering how you might think of that choice? If they strongly disagree with same-sex marriage, should they be able to not serve that demographic, especially if they put it on their profile/web site? I hope this isn't considered a political comment in the forum, as I really am not intending to break that rule. It's more a philosophical meandering, wondering about oh-so-many things :)

I actually applaud Catoline's very clear descriptions on her page. She is clearly wanting to attract clients with whom she shares a very important perspective.....this is something more pros should do if they have strong feelings. It really helps the potential clients to make informed decisions too. Cuddling is so intimate! It's more than sharing affection; it's about connection, and everyone should be able to choose with whom they wish to connect. We all have different measurements regarding trust, vulnerability, and inspiration. I personally do not choose to cuddle with those pros who I am guessing value money over connection,
