Their body, their choice.
There are many many reasons why married people may seek to cuddle. There isn't really much point in speculating as each person has a very unique and individual need and want for cuddling. It's almost as varied as single people who cuddle. Some may have nefarious reasons, but that doesn't change from single or married people. But some may have genuine needs. I think the only thing we can concern ourselves with is would we cuddle a married person. Any other speculation is probably fruitless because people are all different. I can see that the oxytocin issue you raise may be an issue, but again that would be different as well. I doubt there is a standard for this.
Married 33 years, my wife had a hysterectomy a few years ago and has lost all desire to be intimate. We get in bed and she’s on her side I’m on mine. I want to be faithful to her but I still have the needs to human touch. So we agreed this was the best outlet. I get the have an embrace with a woman while not crossing the lines of sexuality. Not that any of that was your business but I’ll entertain your curiousity
@croozin37 i think that's what bothers me about this type of conversation . It's really personal and no one's business. It becomes some sort of trauma comparison thing. One married person is cuddling because her husband is on a naval ship and she's lonely. Then the next is cuddling because his wife is addicted to pain meds and in rehab for the 5th time and he is just trying to get by until he gets his wife back. Or another's wife had a stroke and he is completely dedicated to her and he just wants to touch someone since his wife is not able.
Who gets to decide if it's justifiable. Because another guys wife doesn't want to touch him because she is sleeping with her boss and he doesn't want leave because he just loves her....

I hope you don't extend that concept to non-platonic choices within marriage. We had a patient at the doctor's office who returned from a solo trip overseas, and set up an STD panel without his wife's knowledge, because he had slept with prostitutes during travel. Guess who tested positive, and expressed zero intention of telling his wife?
What we do with our bodies, as well as our hearts, can deeply affect our loved ones.

It's often the same exact word for word reasons people give for cheating. Same excuses. Same logic. I see no difference.
My partner and I are two different people with different levels of desire for human interaction. Me cuddling with ppl on here, helps her not feel smothered.
I have always been a touchy feely person who needs some type of cuddles or human touch. My late husband was always fine with me cuddling friends and others because he was out of town for work a lot and didn't want me to be lonely. But when he was at home, we were rarely apart. I'm sure he would have been fine with me being a pro had he still been here.
@SitaRosee That is true but there might be a good reason their partner is cold to them.
I say it's not my job to care or get involved in another adults personal life. They want a cuddle and book one... everything else is their business
After almost 20yrs in, she just one day decided she did not want me to touch her. And this is coming from a couple who regularly had 2-3 rounds of intimate nights just months before that. No sex, no cuddling (we still sleep in 1 bed), no kisses.....I went through 2 yrs of wining/dining, wooing with gifts, romantic weekend getaways and therapy sessions... Nothing. Doc diagnose her with menopause and we just decided to accept it for what it is for now. . I was headed straight into depression. She told me to look for another woman to fulfill me needs. She said it but I know it would hurt her if she knew I was messing around with another woman. Cuddling was the only option that seemed to make sense for me. I had my first cuddle session yesterday. I teared up. Bless my cuddler, she was very comforting and accepting. I think I will stay with professional cuddler because I think this could easily turn bad if one does not control his emotions. It was my first touch by a woman in almost 2 years. It was a comforting, and healing.
@pmvines There are a lot of individual situations you are not aware of, or apparently concerned about. This is when it’s best to keep your opinions to yourself.
Married people do not have to cuddle with others. The original question reads as if married people "have to" as in they are "required to" cuddle with others. If that was the question, then the simple answer is no, married people are not required to cuddle with others. They may choose to, but they do not "have to"
I think the question was meant to read something like "why do some married people seek out cuddling with others?" If so, that's an entirely different question.
I think words are important and I see a lot of posts on here that get misread or are worded very ambiguously and the thread goes all haywire.
@Case_y completely correct, but I'm not sure if it's misread or purposely misdirected. I find it surprising we fall for everytime. But i also think the original questions was some angry rant because they got cheated on. It wasn't a serious question that can honestly be answered in general.
😄😄😄
@justwanthugs Lol! Yeah, it's a public forum so @pmvines opinions (as well your own and everyone else's for that matter) are pretty much welcomed even if YOU personally don't agree with them. 😁
Uh oh, let's see what happens now

@Case_y

That's weird, with what happened with your username. I guess Cora is still causing reception issues... Again, I don't know? 😁🤷

Who cares, to each his own.
I have seen a male client before who had a severely handicapped wife; she wanted him to be able to receive loving touch and have a session just for him. It made her happy knowing that he was the one being taken care of for a change.
For me, it is the feeling of touch when that same feeling is not desired by the partner. Touching too much can be a turn-off for some, especially if they have sensory issues. Using a cuddle partner is a way to have that touch intimacy and not "turn them off".
