Perfect Strangers

Does it drive anyone else bananas, especially pros, when you get a cuddle request with no introduction? I've noticed that when I go to check if a client has messaged me before, I see at the top "The booking panel will appear once you have exchanged some messages."

I wish that applied both ways! Occasionally I get booking request with absolutely zero "Hello, my name is..." I don't want or expect someone's life story, but it feels so inconsiderate and impersonal to just send a request without a proper introduction, or even a hello. Is this commonly known etiquette that some people are unaware of as I suspect, or am I being too uppity? (Be honest. 🤣)

How do you feel about unsolicited cuddle requests?

  • I feel as though “Yo” is a connection.

  • @TheFunCartel - lmao, it's not great, but at least it's SOMETHING. 🤣

I'm somewhat disappointed that this is not a deep dive into the relationship between cousins Balki Bartokomous Larry Appleton

  • @PixiePassions it seems in this internet age etiquette is a lost art!

  • @pmvines - I was trying to come up with a cheeky title, I'm glad someone got the reference 🤣🤣🤣

    @Cessna_guy - Sad but true!

  • According to the authoritative film, Forrest Gump, you're no longer strangers once someone knows your name.

  • I wonder if that approach works, i haven't tried it but who knows maybe it just saves time, i gotta $100 or so burning a hole on my pocket and you can have it Friday at 7:30.... this message will self destruct in

Funny cause I tried establishing a connection with a pro the other day and was treated rudely for not just getting to the point and scheduling. Don’t goes both ways

  • @PixiePassions
If you want an introduction message, it is your responsibility put it in your profile. You should remember this site advertises on its Homepage:
Step 1 You sign up for free in under 30 seconds.
Step 2 You search for the nearest cuddle buddy.
**Step 3 You message them without having to explain – they get it. **
Step 4 You meet-up and cuddle without it progressing to more

Another reason you may be forgetting is many pros here have explicit instructions that they do not want "small talk." Only send them a proposal with the date, time and number of hours. "Save the chat for when we meet."

What you think is polite or good manners, is cause for another pro to ignore and block.

  • it's a transactional thing for many, best to not take it personal. Would you give an introduction and small talk when booking a massage?

  • I agree with @wilderdude, I wouldn’t take it personally, but at the same time there is nothing wrong with you ignoring or interrogating those who do not provide any information. Everyone is free to handle interactions as they choose.

  • @jackwallace - It is in my profile. 🙃 But good point on the rest.

  • @wilderdude - Maybe not, but I will at least say hi and check their availability first. Also, cuddling is far more intimate than a massage.

  • Agree with @wilderdude. It is a business, you pay for the services, get done and leave. There is no need for introduction or talking about ones personality, could be fake anyways.

There's a reason why you book a consultation for some services before they offer what you want. The consultation in this context is the conversation.

For booking a massage, it's mostly one-size fits all. Cuddling is dealing with interpersonal relations, not a simple service, so that same approach doesn't work. If you try to book a therapist and they don't have experience with your situation, they may advise you to go to someone different. Same thing here.

If someone is looking for a silent, no talking cuddle, I'm not going to have them book with me.

  • I do really enjoy a good intro, especially one that will make me laugh.
I understand it is a transactional thing, but it doesn’t hurt to add a touch of your personality.

  • @KuddlyKoala and @Haaaveyoumetsam - Thank you for your responses! Also, @Haaaveyoumetsam... I LOVE your name! Hahaha. I just got my boyfriend into HIMYM, so we've been binge watching it. (My second watch, His first.)

  • Let us celebrate this thread with the Dance of Joy!

  • I don't see anything wrong with a hello how are you while you are booking a session. I'm sure it helps the person feel more comfortable and it only takes a minute to do

  • @PixiePassions your profiles 1st line should be, 'Say hello. Its makes a difference with me.'

I see all the words, but if that is the most important to you. Roll with it as the first thing you say.

  • Most people it's common social sense to say hello

  • @jackwallace thank you for reminding us. I get these types of messages quite frequently as an enthusiast and while I don't want to sit around texting all day, they do come off as rude and transactional. So this reminder was very helpful for me personally.

  • In that case I will start and introduce myself (even though my name is already right there). Don't forget we have people on the spectrum here who may not have the same social norms as you

  • @pmvines - Thank you, that's what I figured. :)

@UglyDuckling - I mean... It's right at the top, even if not the very first thing.

    @Mare_Bear - Yes, that's a good point.

  • I agree with OP & PMVines. It only takes a moment to say hello. I'm not a Pro. I don't expect people to text with me all day but I do get annoyed when someone comes right out of the gate asking if I will cuddle with them without so much as a hello.

  • My own preference is to chat and get to know each other. Hopefully I don’t sound preachy but I’d say all human interaction is improved with some communication. 😎

But I have been amused at the spectrum of experiences here. I’ve had some be perfectly happy chatting even if we never meet (over months), some who chat at first then flip a switch to “that’s enough, let’s leave the rest to in person so we have something more to talk about”, all the way over to “my time is valuable send me a proposal”.

Most people are some happy medium in between.

But I’ve not gotten annoyed (except in one case), it’s been seriously entertaining just how differently people think and respond.

  • Thank you @PixiePassions ! I hope he enjoys it, as long as you never show him the horror that was the last episode 😂

  • Maybe if more dudes took the time to be cordial and exchange some minimal pleasantries to ensure the other person feels respected and safe and humanized then there would perhaps be less dudes with complaints about messages not being returned or people not wanting to cuddle with them? You get what you give and if you can't give minimal effort then I don't know what to tell ya
