I'm horrible with conversation starters

Anyone have any great advice on how to start a conversation with a potential cuddle?

sometimes I try to make one statement, and ask one question that has noting to do with setting up a meeting but instead allows you to start a friendly dialog. I know it seems like the long-way around, but sometimes it really helps move things along.

  • "Hi, my name is ______, I like (some genre of movie, a hobby of some kind, a type of house pet,) I was hoping we could chat for a while and potentially discuss a cuddle meet up if we hit it off."

I'm assuming you are talking about via this site. First, I would first make sure there is nothing in their profile that excludes you (age, gender etc.). Second, make sure they have been on the site recently (within the past 2 weeks). Then, I would pick one or two things in their profile that appeal to you or you have in common. For instance if they say they have a pet cat and you like cats, ask them what kind of cat they have. Or if they like the same movies or TV programs you do, ask them about that. However, be prepared for no response from most people you contact. I've followed my own advice for several months and not received a single response from anyone so far. Hopefully, you have better luck than me.

  • I agree with @UKGuy that I pick something about the person that interests me. It is usually something they have said in their profile, but sometimes it is something in their photo. But I write to people that are not likely cuddle matches, too. Especially those in photo with their dog! It gives me practice for the times someone is a possible cuddle buddy. I’ve had some great conversations with people too far away, or otherwise not matches. It’s fun. (Yes, some people see me as a pest. I try not to aggravate them by sending more messages)

  • @titanic1517 How about you comment something off their profile, maybe the number of pets they have, their views on cuddling, or just a fav movie they have or where the city their located in. ANYTHING really :) Be courteous, be friendly, be you.

Or just listen to @mickcuddle , @UKGuy , or @Lorelei , they all have great advice!

Please read the person’s profile before you start. People get crabby when you ask them something that is already right there!

    Hi works fine

  • I get a lot of folks asking how do i like the site... great question to ask in my opinion since that's something in common we all have and all of us may even have opinions on. as a pro or an enthusiast, we should more likely than not have something to say to that question.

even if you're not on often, hey, you can always ask "any first impressions?" or "what are you hoping to find in your next cuddle session/cuddle partner?" :)

Thanks everyone, I appreciate all your advice. It just gets aggravating at times for me because not even the professionals will reply. I will take all of your advice and try it out.

Even pros have lives. I just got a response from over a month ago. No harm, no foul. You never know. (But yeah, it can be frustrating.)

On the lack of response thing - it's never about you. Unless of course you're creepy and intense, then maybe approach needs to be addressed. However if you're following the great advice and/or doing similar to what's mentioned above, I reiterate... it's not about you, so relax and keep trying :)

@bleu I hope I'm not the creepy kind, I usually send a message and then follow up message a couple of days later. If still no response I usually just stop. If it's a pro I'll message again in a month or two. Thank you for your words I appreciate it.

Seeing as I'm not the recipient of one of your messages, it's a little hard to gauge. But you come across in this post just fine. I've had a creepy message or two... "intense" perhaps would be a better word to describe it though. You definitely don't read with that demeanour thus far, so good luck :)
