Do you believe it would be a good idea to add preferred race category on profile, + make it easier?

By that, I mean that in profiles, there are categories like “Cuddles with”, and the users can select men, women, or everyone, and then there is the “Preferred age” category &/or “Race preferred to avoid”, where users can put the age range they prefer if any, and I think adding a preferred race category would definitely make it easier. Sure, some people can find it racist but the reality is that some people do have preferred races. I don’t have any preferred races nor any races I would avoid, but with these categories, if I see my race not included in race preferred or included in the list of race preferred to avoid, then I would know to not contact that person, and it makes it easier for everyone. But there can be the concern that some people would prefer to avoid those who have racial preferences or those who have races they want to avoid, and that is fine too. It makes it easier for such users to also choose to avoid those with racial preferences if users don’t want to engage with that kind of people! But yeah, what do you guys think about this idea, is it a good idea or bad idea for the mod team to add if they were to do that?

By the way, I don’t mean in any way to offend but if it does or if it goes against the guidelines on what to not post, I give full permission to the mod team to take this post down and to let me know that this isn’t allowed so I can know about it.

I am not sure how this would be percieved in the US but in the UK it would not go down well. It would (in my opinion) result in people leaving the site in droves

  • Or you could just simply contact and accept cuddle meetups with people who you have a preference for, instead of specifically making an unnecessary extra category that would only serve to be divisive and create conflict and hurt feelings?
Everything doesn't have to be spelled out for you and handed on a platter. If you have a certain preference then search for people based on that but don't expect the site to make that easier for you to do. More narrow your criteria the harder it will be for you to find any cuddle friends but hey, leaves more for the rest of us who actually don't give a shit about race and ethnicity...

  • This also is not a date site and your recent threads seem to indicate that you might have some confusion about that. Adding preferred race etc is very date site-ish. I'm not saying you are a bad person or that you're being racist or whatever, but use your head my guy

I strongly agree with @pmvines that those with more narrow expectations will find it harder to find cuddle friends! More narrow expectations from users make it easier for us to go to others with less narrow expectations if they have it listed in their profile! I have no racial preferences, and adding this category serves well to both kind of people, those without racial preferences and those with racial preferences! And those with racial preferences will only find it harder to find users to message and to meet up with! Serves them just right!

  • @PolarMtnHuman95 it is very simple as @pmvines said. Don’t contact the cuddlers that aren’t your preference. Adding more categories isn’t necessary.

@pmvines I agree that adding that category makes it more dating app-ish

  • I believe OP is trying to avoid dealing with people or approaching people that do not wish to cuddle with him due to preferences in race. Please Correct me if I am wrong but that’s how I am Reading it.

  • ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

  • @sage91436 yes I believe that is what he is getting at but it’s not that complicated. If they don’t want to cuddle with him they can ignore his message or respond and say no thanks. It’s not that deep. Adding categories isn’t gonna change that. Jmo

Absolutely. If there are the rare folks who don't want to cuddle members of the human race, they should be allowed to state their preference for say, The Borg ---- resistance is futile by the way -- or members of the Martian race. No judgement. This is a safe space.

  • @sage91436 is absolutely correct! The point of it would be so I don’t inadvertently waste my time messaging those who prefer to not cuddle with or talk with people of my race. That just helps more quickly move on and to know who to avoid initiating contact with. And this would likewise help all other users in this platform in the same way. They are quite rare but there were even some rare points, three times, in which I got blocked by a white woman (different each time), just for messaging them saying something like “Hi, how are you?”. Sure it can seem offensive towards some for people who have racial preferences to have them stated in their profile, but it would be informative to such people to not reach out to them. My suspicion is that in those three cases I got blocked, they didn’t want to talk with Hispanics, just simply because conservative media highlights about some horrible things few Hispanics do, and that gets them to paint all Hispanics with the same brush and make a blanket stereotypical generalization about all of them, or it could be something else more complicated, like that they blocked me because I don’t drink or smoke or because of at least one of them, or maybe because I have put down that I don’t have a car, or because of my job or maybe something else.

  • I think that you are searching for reasons why you are having problems finding a cuddle friend. Instead of reducing it to race, or to the accounts being on mute as you suggested in another thread, you may as well go ahead and accept that regardless of what convoluted theories you have that it's just going to be an uphill climb. I don't think that ethnic or racial preference really is going to be a measurable factor for you to be honest. It's not that deep,.it's just not easy for men to find cuddle friends on here in the best of circumstances.

  • If there are the rare folks who don't want to cuddle members of the human race

@CuddleMeister00 Lol! You ain't said nothing but a WORD! 😄😄😄

I am happy to cuddle Swamp Thing, The Predator, Werewolves (in wolf, hybrid and human formation too 😁👍)...All supernatural beings are welcome to with Me, if they want to. 😁🫂

If you have a preferred race for cuddling there is something wrong with you.

The ethos of the both this site and the cuddling world in general is that we welcome everybody, because anybody may need a cuddle. This obviously includes people who hold racist beliefs. However, while the person is welcome in our community, the beliefs are not because they are contrary to that ethos.

Cuddle Comfort is based in London, and it's not even clear that such an option would be legal here. It certainly isn't worth the reputational and legal risk.

For the benefit of the hard of understanding ...... these women are twins.

If you have the relevant racial prejudice, you'd cuddle one but not the other. And that's just plain nuts.

Honestly, I like the idea of adding a “hateful idiot” box that profiles can display…

I'm not sure you need to make it easier for people to avoid people by race, i think in this country it's been mastered. Technology will not help anything, people who either consciously or unconsciously avoid people because of race are pretty good at it. It's Apple Pie. Besides everyone exercises "preference " anyway. You know how to do that.

  • [Deleted User]WriterGF (deleted user)

Don't look for complicated reasons why you aren't hearing back from enthusiasts. Most people don't, which is why so many hire pros in the end.

  • I think @pmvines nailed it with his response. You are making an assumption as to why they blocked you. If it is race, that's sad for them, be thankful you didn't make the mistake of sharing time and space with them and move along to people with a higher vibration. Focus on who does respond rather than who doesn't.

@CuddleDuncan - now that is super cool!

  • I'm open to cuddling Freddy Krueger, with or without THE GLOVE! 😁❤️🔪🫂

  • In my eyes, there are 2 kinds of people. The kind that avoid people because of race and then those that make good decisions. It take all kids to make the world go i guess.

  • Yikes on a bike.

    No thank you.

  • 🫂😁🫂😁🫂😁

  • I’m finding it hard to believe that this is even a dialog here. I try (sometimes really hard) to give strangers the benefit of the doubt but this entire thread is reading as the most “hyper rational” trolling I’ve seen in a while.

If OP is not trolling, then please simply accept the feedback you’ve been given above.

  • If we're adding the race option, let's add a p♡litical ideology option!

  • I'm open to cuddling Freddy Krueger, with or without THE GLOVE! 😁❤️🔪🫂

@Katota well that gives a whole new meaning to "no glove, no love" don't it?

(yeah, I know, terrible joke - I'll go show myself out now)

  • @Jubal On the other 'hand' .... I probably would have made a similar joke.

  • @lovingspoonfull i couldn’t agree more.
    @pmvines again right on point
