So many people want to shame people into tipping more, I can understand it but it comes off as very entitled to me, personally I tip very well usually between 30-50% since I so rarely go out to eat but if you're tipping 10-15% I personally think that's fine and I work as a limousine driver so gratuity is part of my wage, honestly for me getting a fat tip is more of ego boost, I don't care that much about the money.

    Unless pro cuddlers are asking you to tip, not sure of the relevance.

    @jmdank tipping shouldn't be a requirement for people to earn an adequate amount of money. Tips should be the sauce that goes to good service. But tip as you feel, i usually only go to the same places where i might need to tip so i tip well.

    Sir, you spend a lot of time in here talking about all sorts of things besides cuddling. Or is it specific subjects you'd not like brought up for some reason. We all have the equal inalienable right to not comment, and bring something unrelated into the conversation.

    I'm a good tipper especially when it's somewhere I go to regularly. Even if the service isn't always consistently awesome, I always tip same amount regardless of what I order and I always tip in cash. This has led to being given really great treatment, even when there is a long wait the manager will put me in a seat. I also always learn names and take interest in them as humans. Amazing what happens when you are nice to people and consistent even when they are having an off day themselves. And the servers and staff feel appreciated and humanized which doesn't always happen in the service industry.

    Any job where tips are a part of salary is simply wage theft.

    The paycheck is subsidized by the consumer.
    Not only restaurants. If you look at how many of Walmart employees who are on some sort of welfare (they are one of the top four, no exact numbers). the public practically subsidizes Walmart's employees' paychecks.

    As an Uber Driver I would love to encourage everyone to leave a tip. Uber keeps so much of the fare that we can barely cover taxes and vehicle expenses and the wage is horrible. If you want to have access to safe drivers with clean nice vehicles and be a decent human please tip your Uber/Lyft driver!

    In Australia there is no tipping. This changes the entire experience dramatically. In Aus, at many cafes you're going to go up and order your food at the counter. You will be grabbing your own cutlery and water. If you're lucky the food will be brought out to your table but often your number is called and you go up and grab it yourself. Employees will roll their eyes and complain if they have to go out of their way to help like it's a huge inconvenience. Complain about their job in front of customers. If the food is less than par you will get a "sorry" not a free meal. And they do not care or cater to anyone with an entitled attitude! 😂 It is cultural opposite to North America where the customer is (*almost) always right. Not saying one is better than the other just culturally different and fascinating to observe. I kind of loved it in a way. Super laid back island vibes. It's one of the things that makes Aus great and unique, love it or hate it.
    Tipping comes down to service quality so I guess that is the compromise.
    Just sharing an alternative perspective.
    (I think this can vary by area, for perspective, I spent most of my time there living in Northern Nsw and Southern Queensland which is very tropical and very much a surf culture vibe.)

    I still tip 15% even though the standard bow is 18%. I also don’t tip if it’s a take out order. I will tip more if I feel the person went above and beyond. As far as pro cuddlers, I don’t believe I’ve ever tipped one. Most pros say they include the tip in their rate anyway.

    I work as a server on the side and I must say that I have to pay 3% of their total bill just because they sat at my table. So if a tip is not left, then it comes out of my pocket. Perhaps some people aren't aware of that fact. I try to offer superb service always, so it's like a slap in the face if not left anything at all even if it is less than 10%.

    I tip about $10 - $20 whenever I eat out anywhere regardless of the cost of my meal. I'm not rich, but it feels nice to bring someone a little joy. I've worked in food service before, so that's probably also a bit of the reason I tip decently every time.

    Since it was brought up...I always tip Pro Cuddlers. I just like to give a little thank-you-surprise and it makes me feel good to be generous as well.

    When I was a server decades ago, we had to contribute to the tip pool which is money for non-tipped kitchen staff. We also had to pay taxes on a certain percentage of sales, no matter what we received in tips so yes, what @friendlyj311 is saying is what I remember and is typically correct. A server pays a percentage of the total of all tabs from the evening in taxes and tip pool even if they don’t receive anything in tips. It’s a horrible system.

    No tipping in S Korea. It was such a nice break. No added tax either. Whatever price is on the tag, that’s exactly what you pay at the register

    I'll weigh in as a professional cuddle provider about tips. I don't expect tips from cuddle clients, I feel that my rate is certainly enough, even with the percentage that CC gets. However, if I drive far, share a lot of free time chatting and answering questions, or agree to a last-minute booking, or otherwise go above and beyond to be present and kind, it's nice when a tip reflects that.

    That sounds like tip sharing, which that I get. But having to pay 3 percent of what the cost of the persons meal is right off the top regardless of tip or no tip especially since the meal has already been paid for in full by the customer, that seems like double charging and not exactly legal . Weird

    Tipping is out of control these days. Starbucks having a tip line, I've been to restaurants where 100% of the ordering is on kiosk and you have to go get your food and bus your own tray and they expect a tip lol.

    Three conditions have to be present for me to tip

    1. take my order while i'm seated at my table
    2. bring my food to me
    3. bus my dishes

    I too was timed out from forum recently. In my defense ever since the election I've wanted to destroy things. But I think I'm ok and my inner beast is caged, for now at least.

    Some things are very political.

    Child labor used to be political in the USA. Now banning it is the law of the land.

    I think tip should be part of the bill, otherwise people will always grumble about how low the tip amount is. Post covid everyone is gone crazy, there is an option for tipping even at self service joints. I personally tip 30-40% if the service was extraordinary or if atleast the effort was made. If not , i am sorry, not tipping.

    Imo tipping is limited to people working for minimum wage. I dont see why one should tip pro cuddlers, if we have to then where do we draw a line ? Should we tip the pilot 20$ because he landed the plane safe and smoothly ?

    @Sooson I do not offer a combo ride and cuddle although I have a) cuddled in my mini-van (may she rest in peace) and b) offered my cuddle business card to a passenger with whom I may have discussed my other side hustle. Never had anyone take me
    Up on it yet but ya never know lol. I never expect tips from cuddle clients however if I am providing hosting location or excessive travel time I try to work out an amount to contribute for that ahead of time.
