@AshleyStone I don’t mind being called pet names. I also have Southern Roots. My family is from Louisiana and I understand what you mean.
I am Certainly guilty of this. I was raised by southern women and lived in the south a few times. I have a habit of calling people “hun” and if I know them a bit I’m known to say “Darlin”. I say this to men and women. I have been consciously trying to stop doing this after a couple men here on CC complained to me about doing it on my first message interaction with them. I apologize to anyone I have offended. To me it happens with as much ease as me saying “y’all” to a group of people.
Well some guy I’ve never met in person just called me adorable and cutie in an unsolicited message. 🤣 He’s half my age. Seriously he doesn’t know whether I am or not but generally I’m not adorable. Too old for that and it just makes me laugh. These guys have soooo much to learn. That’s what’s adorable, the silliness of it.
Yeah, there are pros that will occasionally message me straight up love, sweetie, honey, or the worst: babe. I mean, I know I’m all of those (LOL) … but I don’t need you to tell me that on the first message!
I think it’s shallow, insincere and cheap. As they say, “you only get one chance to make a first impression”…
Don't call me babe unless i can see you Nekkid..... so some professional careers can get away with it but none from here.
