Favorite Pizza(s)?
** Good, old-fashioned "slice" of pepperoni, from most pizza places, in lower Brooklyn, in the 70's and 80's.

White pizza is pretty good . Also a old fashioned , dripping with oil, just mootzerella cheese.

Some of those cheap frozen pizzas in the supermarket freezer .... the box it comes in tastes better than the pizza itself

I can remember driving around as teenagers , in the wintertime getting a fresh made pizza pie it would be so hot , so we would lift up a windshield wiper , open the pizza box, put it on the hood of the car , clamp the windshield wiper down on the open pizza box , and drive a couple city blocks so it would cool down enough .

One time someone got one he was so stoned on something he carried the box out the pizza parlor like a suitcase , what a mess that one was

  • Hawaiian!

I went to an Italian place in London once and asked for a ham and pineapple pizza, and they looked at me in shock. :)

    A true (?) pizza story:

FBI agents conducted a raid of a psychiatric hospital in San Diego that was under investigation for medical insurance fraud. After hours of reviewing thousands of medical records, the dozens of agents had worked up quite an appetite. The agent in charge of the investigation called a nearby pizza parlor with delivery service to order a quick dinner for his colleagues.

The following telephone conversation took place and was recorded by the FBI because they were taping all conversations at the hospital.

Agent: Hello. I would like to order 19 large pizzas and 67 cans of soda.

Pizza Man: And where would you like them delivered?

Agent: We're over at the psychiatric hospital.

    Pizza Man: The psychiatric hospital?

Agent: That's right. I'm an FBI agent.

Pizza Man: You're an FBI agent?

Agent: That's correct. Just about everybody here is.

Pizza Man: And you're at the psychiatric hospital?

Agent: That's correct. And make sure you don't go through the front doors. We have them locked. You will have to go around to the back to the service entrance to deliver the pizzas.

Pizza Man: And you say you're all FBI agents?

Agent: That's right. How soon can you have them here?

Pizza Man: And everyone at the psychiatric hospital is an FBI agent?

Agent: That's right. We've been here all day and we're starving.

Pizza Man: How are you going to pay for all of this?

Agent: I have my checkbook right here.

Pizza Man: And you're all FBI agents?

Agent: That's right. Everyone here is an FBI agent. Can you remember to bring the pizzas and sodas to the service entrance in the rear? We have the front doors locked.

Pizza Man: I don't think so.

  • If I'm getting a cheap two-topping from a chain joint, I'll usually go mushrooms and green peppers. If I can get a third topping without being charged out my butt, I'll do black olives, as well.

Vegetarian 3+ years, pizza is a lovely staple.

Thin crust pepperoni pizza from pizza inn or a philosopher’s pie from mellow mushroom

  • I love pizza, but I recently had to change to a lowish carb diet. Luckily, the best pizza place in the Chicago suburbs has a "crustless" pizza. It is a deep dish pizza where they make the crust out of sausage. Then, they add the cheese, sauce, and whatever other toppings you may want.

@BriGuy1701E - There is a great pizza sauce by RAO, that is pretty low in sugar, I use that with a low sugar, whole wheat totilla and spin up a real quick mini-pizza with Motza and pepperoni slices. Add Italian herbs if you want extra flavor.

From fridge to tummy in under 30 minutes. Tastes great. Doesn't kill the keto diet that I am following.

Microvewave the tortilla for 1 minute on High, prior to adding any sauce or toppings. It drives off extra moisture and gives the crust a chance to get crispy. Preheat the oven (and stone if you use one) to 450, then turn back to 425 when you throw the pizza in. 10 minutes, to your desired doneness.

I can't eat them often, due to the carbs, but every now and then it really hits the spot without overloading the system.

  • Lou Malnati's sausage-crust deep-dish pizza, for the win. Regular deep-dish is just as tremendous. Thin crust vegetarian, I favor anything with olives and mushrooms, or artichoke and feta. For pizzas with meat, I like pepperoni and sausage.

    And now... I'm hungry.

  • I like to switch up pizza places, try them all. My standard go-to though is Rosati’s. It’s a chain around here but I don’t think they are national. A lot of the places around here feature the Fantastic Four: Sausage, Mushroom, Onion and Green Pepper. But toward the end of my month, I’ll settle for sausage and mushrooms or just sausage. It’s outrageous what they get for an extra veggie.
Interestingly, while Motzarella is the traditional pizza cheese, most places in this part of the country use a blend of Motzarella and Provolone. I recently dined at a new place near me, and the pizza was good, different. The owner came to my table, and I asked him, “What’s with the cheese?” He laughed and explained that he was using 100% Motzarella, half full-fat and half low-fat. It was good, just different than I usually experience.

  • The best pizza on the planet is a thin crust, heavy on the sauce, ricotta & spinach pie. No debate! It's perfect.

  • My favorite toppings are meat and pineapple. Any variety. And I prefer bbq sauce to marinara. My go-to is grilled chicken, bacon, pineapple, (sometimes spicy sausage), with bbq sauce. Crust depends on my mood.

  • I met a friend on here who swears by pepperoni, chicken, and pineapple. Have not tried that myself as I don't like sweet stuff on pizza and typically just like meat and cheese, but it does sound interesting

  • @Thellie I, too, support the underdog of pizza toppings - pineapple!

    • Thin crust pizza with pineapple, Canadian bacon, green peppers, onions, and tomatoes.
    • Philly cheesesteak from Five Star
    • Funky Q Chicken from Mellow Mushroom
  • @cuddleashley If you really want to support the pizza underdog throw on some anchovies

  • Meat Lovers or something similar, and it has to be thick crust or deep dish. No thin crust for me.

    MOD PIZZA

  • I usually go for meat lovers or just sausage&pep. My friends are currently trying to win the battle of converting me into a pineapple on pizza lover, but the war will be long fought.

  • A good old fashioned all meat pizza.
Pepperoni, sausage, bacon, beef, ham and topped with cheese.

  • Either a classic margarita with really fresh ingredients, or a dessert pizza, (like a chocolate mud cake or a pecan pie)

  • @respectful .. my pizza story , not as good as yours

My home phone land line is identical to a local pizza place except for the last digit , unbeknownst to me for a while .
On any evening late , my phone would
Ring I would answer , and the other party would immediately hang up . Very rude.
One time a person actually said he thought he was calling dominoes pizza . So , I looked up the local dominoes pizza , saw my number identical ( except for the last number), and , yeah - * that’s why I get late night calls , people hang up , it is a simple misdial *
So , every now and then this still happens , someone gets the munchies, call the pizza place , misdial , and their call goes to me .
So ... sometimes I can predict , that when my phone rings it’s someone calling for a pizza , I answer “ DOMINOES PIZZA WOULD YOU LIKe TO HEAR OUR SPECIALS ?l”. I would proceed to take an order , LOL secure the order with their credit card number , and wonder what happens when the guy doesn’t get his pizza .

  • Thin and crispy crust for preference. Anywhere I go I have to get it with no cheese (dwindling allergy to the protein, it used to be much worse).

This means the more toppings, the better. Pepperoni, sausage, black olive, onion, green peppers, bacon, mushroom, pineapple... I will devour all of it.
