Pro application denials with no reason given? Seriously? 🤦‍♂️

I've now heard from two people that their pro application was denied and they didn't know why. Surely it isn't possible to deny an application without providing a reason? Does it get buried somewhere (that apparently some people can't find)? If so, that ought to be fixed. @mark (is there anyone else more likely to respond about a problem like this?)

One person told me she got denied and had no idea why, so she changed her age to ten years younger than reality, and then got approved. 🤦‍♂️ The system needs to be better.

    Due to the large number of applicants and how the majority are unsuitable, we do not write back to each applicant explaining why they did not progress.

    I can absolutely assure you though that the example you gave is completely unrelated and was happenstance, if genuinely nothing else was changed. Sometimes people do re-apply and get approved a second time, though it's usually due to using a better photo (e.g. more professional, not in a public toilet) and/or writing more than just a single sentence. On occasion unsuitable candidates mistakenly go through while good quality candidates do not. But the system generally works as a practical approach within the context of our resources. Emailing unapproved applicants would be too much of an administrative burden.

    Your feedback is noted but this is more an internal matter. I'm locking this thread now.
