Car cuddles? A good backup, or a bit sketchy?

I haven't ever really wanted to cuddle in a car, because it's not the most comfortable option. But I've always thought of that as a backup if other things fell through. But I've seen a few pros state "no car cuddles." I'm curious about the reasoning. I assume it's more because meeting someone for the first time carries enough risk that you may not want to do something that itself could be a bit sketchy.

Just my musing of the evening, curious to hear other thoughts.

Edit: initial typo saying rush instead of risk.

  • The backseat of a car has certain connotations. It's easy to drive to someplace out of the way where no one will see you for "privacy". It's easy to trap someone in the car, just engage the child lock on their side. Basically, in a car, you are putting yourself entirely under the control of someone else.

I'm not a pro, but I would be very suspicious of someone who wanted a car cuddle.

  • @IronLemon 💯 I agree with this and would never put myself in that situation.
I hope people will use common sense and safety measures! Prevent a problem.

  • Trolling?

  • It’s easily the sketchiest option available.
Waiting around in a parking lot for a stranger who you can’t fully identify to drive by and tell you to get in? PASS.

  • If we're homies sure. If you're an interwebs stranger then nah

  • This makes me think of the Eskimo kisses post. We’re talking about touching noses. We’re talking about cuddling in a car. I feel like creepy people makes things creepy.

  • In some circumstances it can be very cool. Have seen pros who have a minivan or similar vehicle with the back seats removed so a yoga mat or such can be laid down. Park the vehicle someplace like a public park, a beach, etc with the back open so that you have a view of the scenery.

  • Something I wouldn't do myself personally, not the safest thing to do with meeting someone new for a cuddle. 🙃🙃

  • When I first started dating my gf we use to cuddle in the car a few times if we'd get to a move theater early or we didn't feel like going back to her house, she lived with her aunt and didn't like being around a few family members, if you're meeting for the first time I'd say it's pretty sketchy. I've only met one person off of here years ago and for the first meetup I suggested we go for a walk and we ended up cuddling a bit on a bench in a park.

  • I will not cuddle in a car.
I will not cuddle in a bar.
I will not cuddle while smoking a cigar.
I will not cuddle while playing a guitar.
I will not cuddle with someone subpar.
I will not cuddle with a superstar.
I will not cuddle from afar.
I will not will not WILL NOT cuddle in a car.
    (Channeled my inner Dr. Seuss.)

  • @starrynitecuds I don’t know, the guitar things sounds cool. 😇

But kudos on the rhyme. Love it. For the superstar line I remember all the shallow people in the nickel back rockstar video and want to substitute “rockstar”.

  • @lovingspoonfull me attempting to play the guitar would have coyotes howling in distress. I don't make music, I make noise pollution. 😆

  • I was always a big fan of uhaul cuddles, if only i could find a pro with same interest.

  • I have had tons of wonderful, platonic, zero-awkwardness car cuddles. A car cuddle is also the only place someone pushed my boundaries inappropriately, and made me severely uncomfortable.

As I said in the eskimo-kiss thread... Don't do it with new people, people you don't trust, or people who seem to have an interest in you.

There is nothing inherently sketchy about car cuddles. What makes it sketchy is the person, the timing, or any form of coercion.

The only Pro I have ever paid for a cuddle, hosted it in her SUV, backed up to a beautiful mountain view, with pillows and blankets galore, soft meditative music, a sealed bottle of water, and all the respect and consent one could wish for.

When I invite friends to car cuddles, they are much the same...sans the music and the water. I like to park my SUV near a lake or a nice green park where people are nearby, but unlikely to walk behind the vehicle.

Car cuddles are an excellent way to have a public cuddle out of the elements. You can run the A/C or the heat, depending on the season. And a key factor I think most here haven't seemed to realize...the hatch is nearly always open, which takes it from a "parking at the look-out" vibe to a camping or tailgating vibe, real fast. 😅

To be clear, I do not get into a car with anyone upon a first meet, unless perhaps I've known them online/through phone calls and we are close friends, or under very rare circumstances, such as picking up a first-time cuddler with my boyfriend also in the vehicle.

    Other Peoples' Cars

On the extremely rare occasion that I get into a cuddler's car, I approach from behind and snap a picture of the rear end, which obviously includes the color, make, model, and most importantly, license plate. Before getting in, I send this photo to my safety contact, whom I always already have check-ins scheduled with.

I also carry non-lethal protection with me to every cuddle. I love cuddling, and absolutely adore my cuddle friends, but I will not walk around naive and vulnerable, and I would suggest everyone else take all safety precautions very seriously.

  • I have never cuddled in a vehicle, but for some reason I immediately think of the back seat of a sedan or something (too many movies I suppose...mostly horror movies lol). It didn't even occur to me that it would be in a larger space like an SUV until I saw @SunsetSnuggles setup. Being a larger guy, it seems like it would be pretty uncomfortable for me though one day I hope to be proved wrong.

  • The first cuddle I ever had through CC was in the back seat of her car. Our second was in my car at a park she directed me to. She wanted me to see where she and her son had once been homeless. He had gone to school just up the street, and while we were there, she even saw someone she knew. Later, I called to invite her to cuddle at my place, but by then, she had moved out of state.

  • I cuddled with a pro on a mattress in my mini-van on our third session. We were at a lake/park with the temp around 45. Was cloudy and rainy. The thunder, lightning and howling wind along with the sound of rain hitting the car made for a cozy cuddle session.

  • This doesn't sound like the most appealing but in certain situations might not be bad. The scetch is in the context i believe. I do t find it much more sketchy than meeting a stranger at motel 6. A car is mobile but also much more visible, depending.

I've seen pictures of nice car set ups, i e see people camp out of cars and trucks. A vehicle can get you closer to some pretty cool places and still be somewhat out if the elements. I'd not write it off immediately.

The back of my suv might provide a perfect under the stars cuddle, but I'd reserve that for someone I've known to be honest, not a 1st time cuddle.

  • @starrynitecuds that was amazing!! You could create your own cuddle poetry. Genius!!!!🤩

  • I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable cuddling in a car.

  • I was under the impression we aren’t supposed to do car cuddles. I certainly wouldn’t want to for a first-time session, and have declined potential clients for only wanting to do car sessions but who also didn’t want to talk on the phone, have a Zoom call or meet-and-greet beforehand.

    @CuddlesComfort8
If you mean per the site, no, there are no guidelines surrounding car cuddles. But you are wise to decline those who refuse any kind of meet and greet (either video call or casual public meet) - that is absolutely a huge red flag. To then have them only wanting to do a car cuddle, yes, highly suspicious.

I do car cuddles with friends all the time. They often occur after a park cuddle when the weather turns hot and we want some A/C, or after a meal when we're locked in the concrete jungle and just want some cuddles before parting ways. They aren't the most ideal...

Nature is always my first choice. 🌳🦢🦋🪻

  • By the way, @KarmicKuddles20 showed a lovely example of the kind of car cuddles those of us whose are into it, enjoy...absolutely nothing sketchy and backseat-uncomfortable about these types of SUV set-ups. I don't go so far as to put lights (too romantic for my taste), but obviously you guys get the idea of how peaceful, cozy, and comfy car cuddles can be... 😊

I posted earlier in this thread about pros who have a dedicated vehicle set up for cuddles . . . and what do you know, today I ran across the profile of a pro who has some really outstanding photos of her vehicle like this - I asked if she would mind being tagged in the thread so others can look at the photos, and she gave permission, so @CuddleBoost everyone here gets to look at your cool car now B)

  • Car / truck cuddles are the best especially when pros offer a unique experience.
A beach cuddle is the best both ocean views and falls views too.
    A Redwood forest cuddle
But generally car cuddle sounds sketchy for sure

On an old bench seat at a drive-in movie theater can be about as good as it gets with plutonic cuddling

  • Depends if the car is a Glamping rv. 🥰

  • Ive cuddled in an RV, though the RV was their home

  • Car or Van cuddle offers are super sketchy to me.

  • Only if his name is Matt Foley and he lives in a van down by the river.
