  • @g_w_t_w this game was over before it started. They lost in their heads days ago.

  • Millions upon millions are beyond thrilled tonight. I’ll be fine. 😭

  • I am not a fan of organized team sports. Give me skiing, ice skating, breaking, or gymnastics any day. I usually pride myself in not even knowing who is playing the Super Bowl. I did want to watch John Batise sing the National Anthem. Unfortunately I missed it. So will have to catch it in the Internet later.

  • One of the worse SuperBowls I’ve seen… Phila completely blew them out.. I’m a Brady fan, so spitefully happy MaHomes won’t get closer to Brady in rings. Eagles def line is amazing, they aren’t even blitzing, and Hurts played phenomenally. Halftime show was bad, commercials weren’t very good. 1 night of this is good enough.

  • If Jane Austen wrote an account of this game she'd call it "Alacrity and lethargy".

  • My neighborhood seems happy, so I'm happy! Fireworks going off and people cheering.

  • @CuddleDuncan
Yes! It seemed that way to me also.

  • I was entertained by a couple of the commercials.
Mahomes is still young, he may get more rings but I’ve never cared much about him anyway. For me it’s all about the city that has gotten to enjoy all the wins.
I’m happy for the Eagles players, they had an amazing game!!

  • Eagles 40-22 KC

A score that wildly flatters Kansas.

My contratulations to the football fans of Philly, and my commiserations to the fans of KC, television, football, halftime shows, sport and indeed enteraintment generally.

For the avoidance of doubt, I've rarely enjoyed an American football game more. Suited my mood this evening!

  • Don Henley is a bit of a turkey tbh

  • Fly, Eagles, fly...!!!!

  • Yep, Eagles had a great win!

  • @g_w_t_w yes they did!!!! Congratulations to the Eagles 🦅!!!

  • So game 2 of the Superbowl is tomorrow right?

  • On a more genuine note: I don't know why, but 59 feels like a weird number to me for the Superbowl. I was almost legitimately uncertain at first if the title was a typo.

  • @GuyverGordon
Yes I struggled with the way it looked, the number but I’m synesthetic about numbers so it’s no surprise. I’ve now decided the Chiefs were distracted by the appearance of that number. Mahomes did look a little dazed and confused at times. They seemed off. But Eagles were definitely ON the whole game. Maybe they will be my new second favorite team.

  • Eagles deserved to win. They were the better team tonight.

  • @GuyverGordon 59 has a 1% chance of showing up within the first 100 numbers. It had to come up eventually.

At least the roman number is LIX.

  • They were trying they just couldn’t get past defense. Eagles played their hearts out!! Fly Eagles fly!!!

  • @CuddleDuncan

“A score that wildly flatters Kansas.”

Well said! The tone was set early and didn’t change throughout. Kinda boring game.

Same with the halftime show. But I gotta say, Not Like Us seems like the perfect tune for America right now. Everyone (ok, most people) basically running around pointing fingers saying just that. Along the lines of, ‘you’re different, I’m right, there’s something bad about you’.
I have hope that we all will be able to relax our sense of rightness (righteousness) and open our hearts to the “others”.
Oh whoops this is a football thread. Go team!! ;)

I mean, yes, certainly ... still feels weird though.

And "LIX" ... also kinda weird ... (How many LIX does it take to get to the center of the Superbowl?)😜

Refs finally officiate a fair game for the chiefs and this is the result.

They never come back from this.

Kansas City Chiefs star TE Travis Kelce refused to officially speak to the media at the podium post-game.

    Via Fox Sports.

Travis kelce is a crybaby man child

That said, the eagles might have the worst fan base in all of sports

Well, the game might have been boring for most, but for both the Philly fans and Philly wagerers it doesn't get any better and as far as Travis Kelce goes, I believe the spotlight put on him via Taylor Swift only works when you're a winner. Kelce would never be able to hold a political office lol

see you all for the Madness

  • @wilderdude
I read predictions that Eagles fans would burn down the city if they won. So weird, what’s up with that mentality?
Happy for the fans (that are well-behaved though.

  • @g_w_t_w idk, that's just a philly mentality. They are a very contentious group of people.

@wilderdude Yes isn’t that pretty obvious, and I guess it’s not news. .
Doesn’t mean I relate to that mentality but oh well. lol
    Looking forward to March Madness!

  • I wonder if any couches were burned in East Lansing, MI.

It's a strange MSU tradition that they burn couches when they win or lose a game.

“Bald Eagle Sandwiches” is very high on my list of favorite forum comments ever.

    👏👏👏

  • Why do you think the halftime show was bad? @Midnight01?
