I love series and fantasy.
Was very interesting and kept me wanting to read. Now I'm waiting until next Monday for the second book to arrive. 😢 🐼
I'm trying to read more, rest more, work less, and enjoy life more this year. 2025 is a recovery mode!

I'm weird- My most swiped piece of plastic HAS ALWAYS BEEN my library card. I HATE SHOPPING (groceries MUST be done, but that doesn't mean I like it!). I lost my keys once and they were returned to the library. When the librarian called, he said he knew whose they were on site (because of a key chain)!! 🤣
No Longer Human by Junji Ito
The Push- an intense and psychological read about family- both given and created, and the ties that bind us/hurt us. And what happens when something goes wrong- the “obligation”, or lack there of of doing something to help/intervene.
Read this on the trip while on I recently came back from.
Fascinating book, though pretty dry, about Josiah Gorgas. Gorgas was a Northerner and West Point graduate who went on to lead the Ordinance department for the Confederacy. While the book is about the civil war, it is far more focused on supply chains than battlefields.
Probably not a great recommendation for most but if you are interested in some of the economic and political impacts of rapidly industrializing a mostly agrarian economy it was pretty interesting.
@SungSherBear Have you read the ACOTAR series yet? I thought the first book was pretty good, the second was great, the third was okay, but I just couldn't get into the fourth one.

Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCort. This is a reread, read when it first came out. I got to meet him at a book signing. Just starting The Bee Sting by Paul Murray.

I've been working on finding sci-fi, fantasy and horror specifically written by BIPOC and LGBTQ authors. Love me some Stephen King but fiction is a very white and male dominated area and I have found some incredible books in this journey!

Definitely the red queen series and crank. Both are absolutely amazing I really recommend the red queen! In a world of poor red bloods (normals) and rich silver bloods (superhumans) somehow a normal red blood woman discovers she has powers while thousands of silvers are watching so the royals force her to marry the future king and leave her family and best friend behind so they can act like she's actually a silver that was switched with a red child so the silver masses don't find out she's red and go nuts. She goes through so much while training her powers and dealing with becoming queen it's just an awesome series!!!
I currently am re-reading The lady in White, by Wilkie Collins, a romantic mystery in victorian England, with a middle section that I find absolutely scary Without there being anything supernatural in the novel.

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Süskind and The Entrepreneur Mind: 100 Essential Beliefs, Characteristics, and Habits of Elite Entrepreneurs by Kevin Johnson
I suspect I'll be finish with the Entrepreneur Mind by the end of this week. It's a pretty breezy read but its one that I'm taking notes and dissecting personally/professionally. Perfume I am taking my time so I can truly bask in it. I watched the movie some years ago and the read is just great. If I'm honest, I don't want it to end so letting it linger a bit. From the jump, it's been exactly what I wanted.
