That last one is a funny thought but hotel staff don’t make enough to deal with pranks like that. 😀

@SunsetSnuggles you got invaded by hotel staff? Wow. When I was on the road two of my coworkers told me the same thing. Never heard of that before this week.
Did they give you a discount or comp the night?
Even worse, one even said that another time they gave him a room that was already occupied and he was the invader. He’s 6’5” and really made an impression that night. He was mortified.
I put on the extra latch that night. 😀
@lovingspoonfull Yes - thankfully my boyfriend and I were both in the room.
This guy just opened the door and walked right in, no knock, nothing...then backed out and barely said "sorry"... He didn't have a housekeeping cart or maintenance bag or anything. I suspect he thought we were not in the room, and thought he could get away with something.
We did end up getting the room comped, but for a completely different issue...a very loud heater that made noise all night long. I recorded it and played it back for the property manager. 😎
My regional manager was visiting once when I lived in Vegas, and he checked into one of the casinos, dropped his bags in his room, and ran back down to his car because he forgot his tablet.
When he got back a few minutes later, a staff member was in his room, elbow deep in one of his bags. He locked the door and wouldn't let the guy leave until security came.
Needless to say, I've considered getting one of these puppies...

@SunsetSnuggles huh. Never seen one of those. If I read it correctly, it’s basically a supplemental deadbolt when the room is occupied? Not usable when you’re away?
Would probably have to always check luggage but worth it for peace of mind.
Can only imagine what a TSA snooper would think of it.
@lovingspoonfull Correct, it's for while you're in the room/sleeping.
I don't know if it's carry-on approved or not. It isn't sharp so I'm not sure it would be a problem.
As an aside, I always lock my suitcases if they're not with me.
