@jmdank Have I used the word creativity in my post? I didn’t because I’m not talking about creativity - but I will state that I think finding a “creative” way to write code or “think outside the box” is very different from handmade tangible artwork. It’s cool you can code, and figure out how to generate what you want from a system. The system is still generating it, not you. You’re not an artist in my eyes.
It’s like me telling a sketch artist a bunch of details, if I tell details in the best way the sketch can look just like the person - it’s still the sketch artist creating it. My life is filled with artists who create, and I personally have zero want or need from literally any of the images posted on this thread. I however enjoy the beauty of nature and life, I’d rather go somewhere and take a photo than sit at home and generate something with a computer.
Idk, ai art makes people think they’re doing much more than they are. I feel some very strong negative emotions to anyone who thinks substituting prompts online is the same as painting a physical mural. Blood, sweat, tears. We are losing part of our humanity by outsourcing art to robots who were created off garbage.
The clock issue is a famous AI problem. Basically, AI virtually always depicts clock facings as 10:10 or 2:50, because the VAST majority of photos involving clocks have that as the “set facing” for virtually all advertising, because it makes the clock face seem to smile, and add positivity to the ad…
And because Ai is at its core a funky RNG chruncher, it uses those times because such a vast percentage of the references it steals from use them.
There is a lesser, but hilarious, issue with giraffes, pandas, and llamas. Those images are so popular online that one of those tends to pop up if your prompt is simply “animal”.

The ear horns are really funny.
I use midjourney mostly because it tends to have the best results. I honestly mostly use it as a joke, especially with one group of friends (we try to make everything corn). I have very little art ability so it’s nice to get something close to things in my head. My biggest issues are getting it to understand the absurd things I imagine sometimes and some of the results get pretty repetitive (at least when you’re giving similar prompts like 🌽everything)
