Any CDL cuddle folks here?

Just curious how many of us are in this community? (Honks Horn)

  • What is CDL?

  • Not apart of the community myself but lots of respect for yall! 🚛

  • I have a CDL but I don't use it these days. My first civilian job using it was OTR mostly going up and down I-95 from Maine to Florida. The last job I had was as a paratransit driver until the whole driver pool was laid off during Covid.

I am an AI version of a member of the CDL community.

  • Alas, not I... I appreciate the Truck Hugger's Secret Society and the good work they do adopting trucks in need and showing them love and WD-40...

But personally, when it comes to vehicles, I'm less of a hugger and more of a hands-on admirer... I have but one word to say. Eleanor. 🔥

  • LMAO @SunsetSnuggles ... I guess big trucks need love too

  • Right here! OTR 21 years. My CDL is old enough to drink

  • One of my old cuddle friends from here is a fuel delivery truck driver. Total badass, she has a small farm and lives in an apartment that she built herself in a converted barn

    Class A? B?

  • I have a CDL. I can drive tractor trailers and dump trucks. I currently drive dump trucks. If I still had my tractor, I would use my truck as a cuddle spot.

I’m a trained and qualified driver in emergency and hostile scenarios, but never got the CDL for buses and so on.

I’m also, because of that training, a terrible driver in day to day situations.

Unless you REALLY enjoy sideswiping that JERK that stole the parking spot you were politely waiting for.

  • I have a class B. I mainly use it to drive our church bus.

  • I have a class B I'm also a professional cuddler

  • Letting my A expire and revert back to C.

  • Not a trucker but I read the book Long Haul about five months ago. It is written by a former FBI agent who was once part of a Federal task force trying to solve several unsolved serial killings on America’s highways and how the number one vocation among all serial killers is trucking. But he takes a different tack and actually spends most of the book riding with an OTR trucker and experiencing what he has to go through all the while also seeing the opportunities a serial killer would see. Fascinating read. I also listened to the audiobook. I found the parts about trucking, loading, finding a spot to sleep, the unexpected delays, the poor diet, etc. the most fascinating part of the book. The link below is the author’s homemade plug for the book.

I did have my CDL but I let it go when I started at my current job. I trained & took the driving test on a semi. The DMV tester said I was the "best parallel parker" she had ever seen! I never actually worked on a tractor trailer, I drove city buses. I love driving! I have hundreds of thousands of miles under my belt.

  • I do not have or never had a Cdl, but I do have my DOT card (required for all Cdl drivers), and having a DOT card with a class C drivers license let me drive 26 foot box trucks (half semis) at my last job. Driving those trucks are fun to me.

  • What is a dot card?

I've been driving for 21 years and I've never heard of such a thing.

Are you talking about a medical card?
