Any ideas as to why no one wants to meet me, or text back? Maybe there’s something I’m just not doing right…
Are you messaging pros or enthusiasts?
Enthusiasts: If you're messaging enthusiasts, then you might not be aware that female enthusiasts receive a lot of messages. the inbox can be overwhelming at times and they might not respond to you right away or at all.
There are some forums around how to message people for the first time. make sure you're thoughtful, share a little bit about yourself, ask some questions.
Pros: Pros are more likely to respond to you unless your initial message is a nightmare of red flags 😉. If you can build up some karma with the pros and act like a gentleman, enthusiasts might be more likely to reply to you (although karma is not everything either).
You juuuuuust joined so it’s going to take patience, especially if you’re only contacting enthusiasts. If you want to pick apart your profile and vamp it up, I would say add more pics that show you smiling and enjoying life. You only have one photo and to me, it’s a bit lifeless. Some may avoid you because you’re only 23 which can seem young to some. Some may avoid because you mention religion a couple times. Some might be allergic to cats (side note: cracker is such a cute name for a kitty and you should show a pic with you and cracker together).
It just takes time. And I don’t know what kind of messages you put out to people but if you’re only contacting enthusiasts, you need to stand out amongst the hundreds of messages most of them receive.
Good luck!
Prepare for disappointment… you are a student and won’t have funds to pay for pros. And enthusiasts are very slim, especially for someone as young as yourself. BTW, your profile is fine
Well, I see four red flags, that waft of entitlement and impatience, and even bigotry.
You have been here less than a week, and are already asking this question.
Your listed favorite movie is a dark comedy about Hitler.
Your cat is named “Cracker”.
You are Catholic.
So, your profile is short, doesn’t have a lot of points of engagement or curiosity, and has some reddish flags.
Granted, that’s only my opinion.
[ @CharlesGrove - this post was reported, reviewed and I am leaving intact. Note that the forum rules: "Topics to avoid: religion/religious/proselytizing, politics, MMM schemes, as these topics encourage flame wars." Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but no one is entitled to disparage anyone's personal religious beliefs. Please don't. -Sid]
Profiles are horse***t. Just have a pocket full of dead presidents and youre good to go.

@CharlesGrove said,
I see four red flags... You are Catholic.
Why are you accusing someone's faith of being a red flag?
Some religions have a reputation for intolerance, especially when the followers are "devout".
I foretell an event of great reckoning, wherein thou thread is mortally wounded by code in the shape of six vexing symbols L O C K E D.
Looking forward to some excitement, it’s been boring around here lately , until today…finally.
@g_w_t_w Respect to those who admit what they are really here for 🤣🤣🤣
@Sooson yes need a little drama. Let’s try to keep some interesting ones from being locked ok, thanks ☺️
Those Hitler loving catholic cats are so annoying.
"And what do you call this act?" "The Aristocats!"
I refer anyone asking why any religion is a red flag to history.
And, you know, to our current society.
This peaked my interest on the main page so I took a look at it. No major issues with the profile or even minor ones. You are probably reaching out to people who are bombarded with messages and the number of men on here must be significantly higher.
Thanks for the helpful advice by some and hearty chuckle. I’ll try to be more patient, and maybe replace JoJo Rabbit with the Flinstones

This is a very strange comment. OP is 23, not 18-but-looks-14... I cuddle with any adult age, and have had wonderful cuddles with people of all genders younger than him.

Maybe his cat likes Triscuits. Maybe his niece named the cat. My boyfriend's family had a dog named Salsa. 😛

@CharlesGrove im guessing you are referring to Buddhism and Hinduism as well.
5/10
Jojo rabbit is one of my favorite films as well. I remember having such an amazing time seeing it in theatres! lol. For people who are curious, It’s a film about a child fighter or Hitler youth whose imaginary friend is Hitler during the war.
@MaverickLegend
Nice deflection.
@peachpitt
That sounds horrible. It sounds like it softens and normalizes one of the worst evils in recent history.
@IronLemon Dark humor is not for everyone. I believe the film is directed by a Jewish director and writing team and doesn’t at all sympathize with hitler, but paints an interesting portrait of the war . Also, I think Some people find that humor is the best way of coping with trauma.
@peachpitt Ah, didn't know it's a comedy. In fairness, I do like To Be or Not To Be by Mel Brooks, which is set in Poland during World War 2. I think that's the most serious comedy I've ever seen.
Friendly reminder about religious beliefs or non-beliefs: you're welcome to your opinion, but you're not welcome to bash anyone for their beliefs. Thanks.
I would say it was the age
TIL that Tai Waikiki David Cohen directed nazi propaganda and its notmal to treat a specific faith as a red flag because religion is intolerant.
I see the account is deleted - can't imagine why.
And he’s gone….seemed like a genuine dude and not a troll. 1st mistake was joining this site at such a young age. It’s not healthy… it’s for middle age men and pros basically. 2nd mistake was posting in the forum and seeking positive advice.
@Midnight01 posted: "1st mistake was joining this site at such a young age. It’s not healthy…"
Not healthy? He made a brave and healthy choice taking steps to get his physical touch needs met in a platonic way.
@Midnight01 posted: "it’s for middle age men and pros basically."
That is just flat-out non-factual.
Using myself as an example, I'm not a Pro, and just glancing through my Karma, half are middle-aged men and the other 20 are guys 19 to 30's, and women I've cuddled.
But don't use me as an example, let's use you...
You live in Chicago - within 20 miles of Chicago there are 125+ male cuddlers between 18 and 30 years old, who are active within the last month. There are 23 non-Pro women in that area, also active this month.
Lest you think all these younger men and non-Pro women from your city are on this site when they somehow "shouldn't be", let's review the FAQ:
Are there conditions for joining?
"Members must be 18 or over, and may only create a single profile."
What kinds of people are here?
"Generally people who are missing touch in their lives, but some people are here because they are aware of the need and want to give to others."
"Possible reasons for missing touch are many: a recent breakup, being single but not wanting to be in a relationship, being away from home for extended periods and so on. Some aren't necessarily feeling a lack of touch in their lives, they just love cuddling!"
I'm not sure what you stand to gain by suggesting this site is more limited than it is...but there's no need or place for ageism, here.
