Thoughts on Age Gap Cuddling?

  • I haven't yet met someone under 35 who is genuine about booking platonic cuddles and able to follow through.

As a pro, I don’t have an age limit. All of the men I cuddled have been younger than me, primarily 40s. But I’m in my 50s so there’s that 🤷🏽‍♀️

  • I'm early 50s, and have cuddled pros in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. Almost all great experiences, and I haven't found that age (or the age gap) has made a significant difference in the experience.

  • I will say that younger individuals have been more respectful of my boundaries, in my experience.

  • I'm 49. everyone I've met so far are younger than me. a few in their 40s. I haven't met many under 27 yet.

  • I prefer not to cuddle young men. 30 and under is not relatable to me even if that may be my "age group"

I haven't been able to cuddle with anyone yet but personally the thought of cuddling with someone around the age of my mom feels kinda off even though I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

@cool_dude_ as long as you’re cool about it it’s cool

  • Maturity in behavior is more important than chronological age.

  • The soul ages much slower than the skin suit

  • Ideally gap should be 4.8<x<11.2

  • I did cuddle a 4 year old once. I don't think she was 4.8, though.

I visited a friend online, I get there, sit down on the couch, and her daughter immediately climbs up on the couch to snuggle up to me. I'm a little surprised but roll with it. She's astonished, her eyes wide. "She's never done that with anyone before!" she said. The kid was more or less glued to me that entire visit.

  • I'm over 50, when I've cuddled with women 30 and below, they tell me that they feel like I'm the father figure that they never had. It's unfortunate how many young women never had a supportive father figure, I'm glad if they regard me that way.

  • …is your grandma your only connection to older folks? I’m confused by that statement. Go out more to where there is a more mature crowd if you want to work on engaging with older individuals.

  • @IronLemon That is so sweet and imo one of the highest honors. 4 year olds live their lives by feeling vibes. Sounds like your friend's daughter felt very safe and comfortable with you.

  • In my experience, the older the better. When I have cuddled people older than myself, in their 40"s, 50's and 60's I have found them to be more respectful and they didn't make inappropriate comments and push boundaries. Many enquiries that I have received from younger cuddlers Have made me block them for a whole just of reasons. Thus might be just my experience though. 🤷😅

@IronLemon is lovely to cuddle with! My inner 4 year old agrees. Although we're contemporaries in age.
    @penguin34 -Truth.

  • I'm in my 50's and everyone I've cuddled with has been in their 30's and 40's never had anyone younger or older than that.

  • I’ve watched this thread and been amused by the variety of opinions.

I finally decided to weigh in - it’s easy for our thoughts and feelings to be channelized as we age, and get into such ruts that we fail to even recognize how differently others perceive the world. We then can vilify them because they’re “other”.

This is true of social groups, where we often create “echo chambers” that make us comfortable because we hear back our own opinions and take reassurance from that. As well as generationally, where a different set of social experiences have shaped worldviews and opinions in a way foreign to our own.

In my experience, the most well adjusted and thoughtful people have been exposed their entire lives to a variety of ages and opinions.

Could cuddling with people that are different than you, and respectfully sharing opinions (kind of hard to picture a contentious debate if you’re warmly snuggling) actually be of benefit instead of a “risk” to be debated?

In my experience, kindness, wisdom, and insight don’t have any correlative demographic - it comes from people of all types.

  • I cuddled with someone with a 10+ age gap before. It was a bit weird but eh it is platonic and even kids can cuddle with like a parent or guardian. Which then isn't a big deal at times. So that is what I told myself. I also reminded myself it isn't like a romantic relationship either because otherwise I would run lol. So yeah just reminding myself it was just a cuddle helped it be like a regular cuddle.

  • @lovingspoonfull you are perhaps looking too far into it. It's just about preference. Its very difficult to have a nice cuddle with someone you can't relate to. You say on your profile that you like conversations, decent music and thought provoking movies. Have a cuddle with a death metal head, who just watches you tube and tik tok. Then at the end says they don't have enough money to pay or simply leaves without paying at all

  • I feel apprehensive about cuddling with someone 18-21. I get the feeling that they would be creeped out by my age. That they would go through with it out of pity or something like that.

  • @Janelle19

Loves death metal and scrolls Tik Tok and YouTube? Just need a beard and sarcastic asshole space and your @pmvines bingo card is complete

  • @pmvines made me lol at the airport 😂😂😂 thanks!!

  • I have cuddled ladies a few decades older than me. At first during the cuddle, it was awkward, but I did get comfortable with her quickly. All I can say is give it a try.

  • @Janelle19 i won’t knock you for having preferences. 😎 that’s normal and understandable (especially those related to maturity and self control).

I was more focused on the awkwardness element of @peachpitt ’s original post. I think it easily could be, but I wanted to highlight the potential reward of it. Ultimately who anyone chooses to cuddle with is a purely personal choice, and I’ll applaud the act itself since it can be such a positive part of life.

But do let me know if you and @pmvines overcome that deathmetal and cuddle! 😂

  • One need not overcome death metal to cuddle. However, I recommend against moshing while cuddling without proper safety equipment.

  • @Adragayle

Aw laughing while flying is a great way to forget about the very real possibility of going down

    @IronLemon

One of my dear favorite cuddle friends and I cuddled to Infant Anhialator and another to Acid Bath. But I'm flexible about cuddle music or just nothing at all.

  • I am about to be 62 in a couple of weeks. When I initially signed up, it seemed like most of the active people looked well under 40. Surprisingly, most of the guys who requested to cuddle in the first couple of months were 20s and 30s. Also surprisingly, they were funny, respectful of boundaries and treated me as a peer and not as someone their mother or grandmother's age. I have cuddled 40s and a couple of 50s since then. Age has always been just a number to me. My relationships have ALWAYS been with guys at least 10 years older than I am, but my friendships have been with people 2 to 92.

I am curious. How many who are not comfortable cuddling someone with an age gap have friends only in their age group?

  • As a pro I am open to everyone that is respectful without discrimination. I’ve had good experiences with older people! I love to hear their stories and experiences. 😊
