Video Games while Cuddling

Hi all, short time listener, first time caller.

Is it considered rude to play video games while cuddling someone?? I'm torn between feeling like its kind of rude to play while someones over. But I also feel like its not an issue if its like a hangout.

Another question: what are some good video games to play while cuddling? I'm sure Wii Bowlings out of the picture (unless youre very creative), but what about some other games?

  • Lots of cuddlers enjoy video games. Playing together can be an activity. Outside of that you'd have to discuss it with individual cuddler. Pros probably won't care. If it's a cuddle enthusiast, ask how they feel about some of your attention being diverted away from them.

  • I’m not a video game person, but I don’t see no problem with it. If one or both of you are into playing video games, go for it. Even if you are the one playing and she just wants to cuddle I think that’s perfectly OK.

  • If you have enough social skills to read people at all, then video games would be fine. As long as you can gage when the person is interested or getting bored. Fun Wii or party games would be best. Keep reading the room because your attention should be the other person, not the game.

If you are more introverted and are poor at reading other peoples emotions, then no. Better to play it safe and engage in an fun activity where you won't be as distracted from actually being enjoying the company of another person.

  • I personally wouldn't mind, a cuddle is very individual. I had a get ask me to iron a few shirts during a cuddle. I would just be up front about the gaming when you ask for a cuddle. Sometimes it's also just about having company and some human interaction

I'm not a gamer but if you can find a fellow gamer to cuddle with while gaming, as good as watching a movie together I would say

  • I think that would be really fun! I am not a huge gamer, but I think playing with others is a blast and cuddling while playing would be awesome :)

  • There's a game that just came out called Split Fiction. A two player co-op! Might be fun to play together and get some teamwork snuggles in here and there!

All cuddling means is that you're huddled up with someone. Don't overthink things. Some folks like to talk about cuddling as though it's some sort of thing that you have to be completely focused on or do a certain way. It's no wonder that there is so much unnecessary stress involved with it. If you would have no problem playing games while hanging out then you should have no problem playing games while cuddling if that's something you are both into. It's not that deep. Don't make it complicated and so serious.

  • I think it comes down to the person, a lot of people enjoy watching tv while cuddling so I don't see the difference between playing a video game and cuddling, in my opinion it's not rude.

From what I understand, there's typically communication before anything takes place. So just ask! Then they'll tell you what they're okay with.

  • I would do it if you fill out my intake forms in triplicate, bring your own controller in hermetically sealed packaging, watch my 20 one hour YouTube videos on the perilous pitfalls and therapeutic claims of cuddling, and of course, you must send a $50 non-refundable gaming console wear and tear deposit. After that, cuddling like gaming is a no-brainer.

    @pmvines

So true. Most of my cuddles have been us laying in bed, but I think exploring other ways to cuddle might keep it exciting and nurturing. I think some of us cuddle for companionship. Which is why I prefer overnights. Can eat dinner together, hold hands on a walk, etc.

  • Cuddles can be whatever you want them to be. If video game cuddles are what you want, seek like-minded cuddlers and blast those end bosses to smithereens!

@amcuddles608 is correct. All you need to do is ask your cuddle partner beforehand if this is something they would be interested in, or not.

  • That sounds like it'd be an awesome hangout! I love gaming.

  • so one person I met from here gas been over for a few weekends when he visits since he's like30mts away. we usually play games as part of his time here. I haven't seen him since before Thanksgiving. he almost started to feel like part of our family.
we just played some switch games like Mario kart, smash Bros., and switch sports. the sports wasn't too cuddly. I probably need some other multi-player titles.
I'm a gamer, but most of my games are on the pc.
one weekend we were gonna do pc gaming, and he brought his laptop but we couldn't agree on a game. we have gone on outings too.
I am a lifelong gamer though. I grew up with it in my house. I will note that if you're introverted or have some social awkwardness. it can help since it takes away too much direct eye contact. even if only on the first meet. then later on as you're more comfortable move into other styles of cuddling.

  • Sounds like a lot of fun

  • Just curious since I see it discussed in here frequently things like public cuddling, virtual cuddling, or engaging in different types of activities like playing video games as part of cuddling. Why not just describe it for what it is, companionship, not cuddling?

  • I've never had the opportunity to play video games while cuddling but it sounds amazing! Body doubling with Nintendo switch or having an extra Xbox controller as long as you don't care that I probably suck at this game were gonna get along great 😆
