The bolas spider’s favorite food is moths, but it doesn’t weave a web. The bolas spider produces the same scent produced by a female moth. Male moths are attracted to this scent, and the spider waits for the inevitable appearance of a male moth.
As the male moth nears, the bolas senses the vibrations from its wings. At just the right moment, the spider casts out its bolas. The bolas, after which the spider is named, is a special spider-silk thread with a sticky glob on the end. Scientists who have studied this glue-glob say that modern chemistry could not equal it. The silken line is so elastic that it can stretch up to six times its original length. This allows the spider to conserve its energy while the moth struggles. Once reeled in, the bolas wraps the moth in silk for storage until it’s hungry. The bolas's method works so well that it is not unusual for one spider to catch up to eight moths a night.

They can survive being boiled in water and frozen to almost absolute zero (where all molecular motion ceases). Curious about the limits of their survivability, scientists discovered that water bears can survive pressure up to six times the deepest ocean trench’s pressure. When subjected to the complete vacuum of space and direct radiation from the sun, they lived. Water bears can even survive for almost ten years totally dehydrated. To resurrect them, all you have to do is add water.

There are certain species of frogs that live in harmony with tarantulas. One of them is the dotted humming frog. The frog is no bigger than your thumb fully grown.
Despite the easy meal, the tarantula will NOT eat the frog. The frog will eat ants and other pests that could harm the spiders' eggs/nest, and the tarantula will, in return, keep the frog protected from other predators safe in its burrow.

Riverboat crews used to use nautical units to measure the depth of a river by lowering a marked, weighted rope into the water. The rope was marked every "fathom" (6 feet). Two fathoms was a "twain" (12 feet).
Crews counted the marks as they disappeared into the water until they felt the rope touch the bottom of the river. At the first mark, a crewman would yell, "Half twain!" At the second mark, the crewman would yell, "Mark twain!"
Samuel Clemens, an author who worked on a riverboat, was inspired by these measurements to write under the nom de plume, Mark Twain.

This small little mouse may seem cute, but it is one of the most aggressive mouse species.
Called the werewolf mouse, or grasshopper mouse, it is native to the Grand Canyon.
It has a carnivorous diet, feeding on grasshoppers and other insects. Its main food source is scorpions; including the most venomous scorpion species in the U.S, the Arizona bark scorpion. The venom has no effect because they are immune to scorpion venom!
On top of all of this, the mouse howls. They howl to mark territory and warn others when threatened. It is similar to a wolf but much higher pitched.
