My nurturing nature. It was born from becoming a caretaker to my 3 younger brothers at 10 years old.… it comes from that and a people pleasing self defense mechanism.
I love how absolutely amazing I am at caring for others - heck I’ve made several careers out of it. Professional nanny, medical assitant, personal assistant, estate manager, newborn care specialist and now professional cuddler. I just wish I was half as good at caring for myself as I am others. And if it wasn’t for my early childhood traumas & people pleasing … what else could I have become.
I have neuropathy and epilepsy so my stupid dumb brain favor my left side and when people notice I want to crawl into a hole and hide. Sometimes they politely ask, some people just outright accuse me of being on meth or something.
Which brings me to my point people don't often love their imperfections. Little foibles sure
Not sure if it is considered an imperfection but when I do a full on smile my dimples are gigantic like too much for my liking. So I always to little smiles lol. Last month I was grinning from ear to ear at an elementary school because of funny kids and a kid was like, "Excuse me, why do you have those holes in your cheeks?" Lol. Well, that got me to go back to usual smiling then. But also had to teach him about dimples. Now, I still love my dimples just don't know why they are even more noticeable than the dimples of my siblings. Especially, if 23andMe told me I am less likely to have any dimples! LOL
I think outside the box, which comes across at times as strange, but my creativity is great for unique problem solving.
I don't think it's immediately obvious, but if you look at me closely, you can see some minor flaws in my nose shape from when I broke it in elementary school.
Why do I love it? It came from attempting a stupid, silly, kiddish stunt involving a backflip, so I always get a nostalgic laugh to think of it. And it always reminds me that if I keep an adventurous spirit, sometimes I'll get dinged up. Hopefully just metaphorically and not with more injuries.
I have big ears and one is lower than the other.
I feel like everything about me is an imperfection. It just varies in severity and impact.
One that is both severe and impactful is that I feel things so deeply that I fear getting carried away with it. I’ve put it behind a persona of calm and studiousness. Sometimes so far behind that persona that my critics have told me I’m cold and indifferent. That darkly amuses me because it’s so far from the truth. 😎😬
At the same time I’m intensely curious, analytical, and eager for learning. My mind is always racing collecting and collating data, then forcing me to feel something about it.
I’m deeply uncomfortable with this (far too often it can feel like raw touched nerves but since when is facing reality fully comfortable?), but all the same I wouldn’t have it any other way. I don’t know who I would be without it.
When I was younger I thought I needed to “leash” these feelings to intellect. Now, I think of it as “integrating” them so I can be a complete and balanced person.
I wouldn’t say I “love”’it. I would say I “am” it. Or I “own” it.
And I think I’ll log off now. This feels like too deep a thought for a beautiful Sunny Saturday that is still reveling in the aftermath of two days of gentle rain. Have a great weekend everyone.
Honestly, how good I am at arguing 😂 Not a socially acceptable skill set to have, and my quick witted ruthlessness would definitely be considered a flaw, but when I'm dealing with someone threatening, it's a lifesaver!
My teeth! A dentist told me I needed braces to treat an overbite, but they also said if I had my teeth straightened it would be more obvious and I would need jaw surgery. Lil old me said fuck that lol my imperfect teeth are fine
My dimples and lack of social awareness! I don't get embarrassed from doing dumb things.🙂
My dimples oddly enough because I have 2 sets of them. Facial dimples and the dimples on my lower back.
@KuddlyKoala Nice to know I’m not the only one who enjoys embracing their dimples !!!
~ Happy Cuddling Everyone 🤗 ~
The scars all over my body-some from wounds, the rest from childbirth. I love looking at my scars (not the ones from childbirth) and think-wonder how I got that one lol I was your typical Tomboy growing up out in West Texas. While I did serve in the military I have no scars from that period of my life!
I always say I’m imperfectly perfect … I have scars from being a tomboy as well … a broken pinky (the left one) I never fixed after breaking up a bar fight while working. After being in two car accidents my body is broken at times so I have to embrace not being invincible anymore(and ask for help !!! Which is way harder than you’d think) thankful I have an amazing family and friends. My vampire teeth that I’ve yet to get braces for … Personality wise - I grew up around more male role models than females (all strong minded and intelligent) so I have to remember to lead with my feminine energy vs masculine even though both are stoic …
I hear you both about the scars; I have a lot of them too. I don't love them, but I accept them as tokens of experiences I for the most part cherish or in hindsight did more good than harm or least didn't kill me.
Wow this really is making me think hard and I'm having a hard time coming up with anything. Not that I don't have imperfections, because there are many, just can't think of any that stand out to me that I LOVE. Maybe ones that I accept or like somewhat, but trying to think of one that I love.
Edit: I don't know if this counts but my hard forehead that my uncle says is a dangerous weapon (as a kid I would sometimes ask him to wrestle and accidentally caused him nosebleeds and other pains from my head) and can "crush rocks" with. 😂 I don't know if I'd go that far in describing it as he did, but I do remember at times seeing if I could dent my locker in school with front headbutts and no it did not hurt. I have my parents to thank as my dad has a pretty hard head too (we used to literally lightly bump heads when I was little for fun) and he had my mom take a lot of calcium supplements while pregnant with me.
